You were obviously very hesitant to trap Luca why was that the choice uh you know how’s because of his size and passing ability kind of pick apart the gym um and then when you do he gets other guys going and so you know we want to guard

Oneon-one and you know force him into tougher shots so that was that was the objective but I think we were kind of back on our heels and made a little bit too easy early um just walk up shots it felt like he had whatever 20 whatever in

The first quarter and didn’t really have to work for it so you want to take him inside three-point line and make a little bit harder as far as that and then when he did I think we didn’t show a lot of resistance around the basket

With him bumping off and all that so um you know we want to rely on our one-on-one defense and um we were reactive instead of being more proactive and aggressive at half time his teammates shot 50% on threes 50 50 yes with you switching as usual yeah was

That hay hats off to them for doing it or was it not the usual three-point no I think um the looks that exm got he got three wide open looks and um some were over rotation on down penetration so got the two in the corner and the one on a

Defensive mistake there and then PJ Washington made two so they were six for seven and a half those two um you know off of some traps that we did and he kind of found those guys on the weak side so um no I wouldn’t say hats off I

I think when he is under control oneone and we over rotate and we get those kickout threes to the corners that’s not what we’re looking for obviously so um wanted to give one or the other and not going after him was to keep him contained or keep the other contained

And and make him work for a one-onone it feels like Jabar was a bright spot how would you assess his performance tonight yeah you got to go I think you know really stood out when uh others didn’t play as well you know but or make shots

I should say you know not really play as well Dylan you know over seven and he gets wide open looks and about four of them you know go in and out um Jaylen and and and Fred as well you know didn’t play up to their standard offensively so

Obviously it stood out what what Jabari did but um really like the looks that we got you know if we got stops and get out ran we had a ton of those but um the looks are really good and know it’s tough when one guy has a going for their

Team and then you know our three guys aren’t hidden on that same stride tonight but bar stood out and was aggressive with Jaylen it seems like he’s facing some more of those have some more pressure out even Beyond a three-point line how do you think he’s

Handling that and what are some of the steps to getting consistently good looks for his teammates off that yeah I think you know you just got to recognize the traps I think he’s improved in that area this year um can’t be really cut off guard by that especially against Dallas

They they do that quite a bit will’ll go after guys and so um I think there were some passes missed there in the pocket and you know but at the same time as the one he made the ones he made um we didn’t always convert at our best you

Know we missed some layups out of that and some kickout threes so you know for the most part far we and invite teams to go after our guys and get the numbers behind it and like I said we didn’t shoot it particularly well tonight but

He made most of the right reads um but has to expect that with the hot streak that he’s on lately does tonight kind of illustrate the void that’s left when there is no alrin you know especially in that pocket he’s obviously dominant those scenarios and now teams are

To try to take Jaylen out other guys have to make him pay and like I said it wasn’t our best offensive night as far as that tonight is there a counter for when teams try to hunt like a mismatch with all the switching is there a counter for that defensively like like

Every time down the floor you tried to get a a switch onto somebody else and then you know there was a breakdown is there like effective yeah I mean obviously you can go after him and but he’s really good there we do hit late you know off the rollers when they to

Clear out um I think Dallas in general especially donic Kyrie some um have seen all those coverages and they’re pretty used to it so The Bigs are drilled really well in the pocket making the reads there um but there are some late hits and we went after them there and

The few that he got out the kickouts to D or to PJ Washington early were slow rotations one to gaffer for the layup underneath and so uh rotations had to be a little more crisp there but yes you can definitely go after him but like I

Said he’s one of the best at recognizing those and making all the passes to get his guys involved what you think of of Cam’s return I’m sorry what did you think of Cam’s return he looked good he looked active fresh he didn’t you know he didn’t get tired we you know keeping

Him around that 20 minute limit but um loved his aggressiveness right from the start um you know looked good didn’t look winded at all it’s been a while since you uh lost a game what is the message to the team to get another winning streak started yeah we didn’t
