Nobody else has a defensive rating that bad (119.0) or a defensive win share that low (0.028).
Coffey’s defensive rebounding % is the 2nd worst on the team, behind only a sparingly used point guard. He’s also allowing opponents to hit shots at a 2.8% higher rate than expected.
Part of that is certainly how Ty has decided to use him as part of smaller rotations that have not worked against the league’s best teams. We’re running out of time to find an alternative.

Individual defensive rating is the worst way to judge players defense, I mean look at bones. I do slightly agree with rebounding but the problem Coffey is shooting guard who is playing at PF
He definitely shouldn’t guard shooters with good off ball movement that will run him through a bunch of screens. Keep him away from Conley, Isaiah Joe and MPJ
Said it long before he was given more minutes in the rotation.
I honestly believe he has one of the least agile feet in the NBA. Guys are literally dribbling around him. Yes, like pulling back and just making a de-tour.
It’s a tough pill to swallow since his shooting is pretty nice, especially since the whole team is barely shooting league averages lately but as a coach you have to see how much of an issue that is. Mann is a worse shooter and less smart on the court than Amir but at least what he does well fits much better with the immutable pieces in the squad (the big 3), crashing the boards, cuts etc
he does have issues navigating screens I’ve noticed that too
