Steph is having the worst post All-Star shooting splits in his career this season

Steph has been historically good post All-Star. But this year he’s shooting 41.2% from the field, the worst of his career, and 35.5% from 3, also the worst of his career. (Excluding 2019-2020 where he played only one game)
For comparison in 2021-2022 where who couldn’t shoot from 3 at all was 39.1% from 3 and 50% from the field.
He’s also averaging the least points since his second year, he’s averaging only 22.6 this year.

The good news is April has started, and it’s the best month in his career where he averages 28.1 on 50/47/91.
I suspect this slump is because of the injuries and the no rest he had on this stretch.
If we want to have any chance at the playoffs we need him back to his usual self.

I know this isn’t the best we had seen Curry, but God I didn’t know it’s that bad. Hoping he could get better this upcoming month when we really need it.

  2. I still think he is not fully healed. He is not attacking the paint that much. Lets hope he starts playing like he does in April generally

Injury, no rythm, shitty roaster, no big, no spacing, same kerr’s tactics since 2016, teams figured how to play against steph, no calls, team relying on rookies, draymond still regressing offensively since 2017, there are so much things to say and so much reasons to steph shooting splits lol

From the games I saw he seemed to be forcing bad shots.

  5. His legs are tired. Playing more small ball than ever this year has resulted him having to defend more. With kerr not playing wiggins and loon, steph has essentially been our second ball of back defender. Which means he’s doing alot of running on both ends. Kerr has five a rant poor job of protecting steph on the defective end this year. The years prior, steph was always defending the stationary offensive player to conserve some energy. Not this year. And he’s played his most total minutes in like 7 years. It’s why brown always had wiggins paired with steph during the regular season.

  6. This has also been the most games he has played since forever. The team is so bad, that without him we have no chance whatsoever. We literally lost to the spurs without wemby when Steph was injured. Steph due to his off ball movement, does spend a lot of energy in general. Also the fact, that the warriors have played so many clutch games this season that he inevitably has had much less rest than previous seasons. Combine that with the fact he was is 36 and the team is very mid, it’s very understandable that the man just seems lethargic and tired.

  7. I said this like 2days ago and everyone got on my ass lol like Ive never seen so many 9,15,17,21 pt type games from him like he has been putting out lately

He’s 36. We can chalk it up to injury and lack of rest which no doubt are impacting his play. But at the end of the day, most of his stats are at or near career lows. He’s declining and it’s okay to recognize it. What’s not okay is for the Warriors office to be so incompetent in getting this old man some help. What’s not okay is Andrew Wiggins being washed before Steph. What’s not okay is this team putting in as much effort as a ymca squad.

straight played himself out of All NBA contention this last month

Kerr cannot keep running the same exact system next season and not expect diminishing returns wrt Steph if there isn’t a legit interior scoring threat to draw some help/doubles and free up Steph on the perimeter. he’s (Steph) just waaaaaaay too content to jack up tough contested 3s. almost everybody we play kills us from 3 off of slashing to the rim and passing out to open shooters when we collapse, while we just stay perimeter and take tough 3s. Steph cannot sustain that anymore, we’re too predictable

  10. The man is 36. I’m 31, probably the strongest and smartest I’ve ever been in basketball, but even now my body absolutely does not agree with me like it did even 5 years ago. This dude is 36. THIRTY. SIX.
