Tough call. I think so, but JDub hasn’t had to be *THE* guy every single game like Ant. Personally, I think he’d be fine in that role, but I understand if people can’t see it yet. Wait until playoffs start, people will get it then.

I’ve been thinking about this, and it gets less and less crazy as JDub progresses. I think Ant is better now, but I also think they’re in that same 15-25 range of player.

Alright, let’s settle down a bit. I LOVE JDub. He’s criminally underrated and overlooked by casuals and media alike. However. Anthony Edwards is a Top 10-12 player in the league. I think if you’re going to do this type of “star vs JDub” comparison stuff, do it with the more fringe guys like Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, De’Aaron Fox, etc. Those are much more fun to debate because it’s placing JDub on that level without having to try and bring down those guys’ abilities. Comparing him to Ant would require tearing down Ant from the next tier up, which is unfair to Ant. He’s great.

I love Dub and think his ceiling is as high as anyone’s, but let’s not delude ourselves into thinking he’s on Ant’s level right now. Could he get there? Maybe – but right now he’s not there yet.
Let’s not get this post shared on the Timberwolves subreddit and look like delusional homers. lol.

I love Jalen Williams and believe he can be a top 10-15 player in the NBA in a couple of years, and he’s arguably already a top 30 player. He’s versatile defensively and plays well both off the ball and with the ball. I suspect that he’ll be a multiple All NBA player in his prime.
But Anthony Edwards has a legitimate chance to be a top five player, possibly higher. His athleticism gives him a ceiling that is higher than Jalen and he’s also four months younger than J-Dub.

Dub will be a star but Ant is a bad ass mofo

Not yet, but I think JDub is better defensively. Ant right now is the better player overall.

It can happen, without a doubt, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Remember that Ant is actually younger as well and has been the 1A for 2 seasons already. Time will tell but I think they definitely have similar ceilings.
