This could be the nail in the coffin for our 4th seed push, when we have to play small ball for large portions of the game I’m going to start looking back nervously at the Pelicans

  2. We are not going anywhere without Lively and I’m not being dramatic. We will be forced to play maxi or Dwight at 5 which has been disastrous. Such a shame how injured lively has been his rookie season

  3. Axisofcoolio

Bball gods said “ nah, things are getting too good in Dallas”

  4. Gonna be painful to watch Maxi trying to play center

  5. mavericksnipe

The basketball gods legitimately hate us. We can’t stay healthy for any stretch

*sigh* It is what it is. Get well soon, big fella.

  7. I wouldn’t call him injury prone yet, he took an elbow that broke his nose and twisted an ankle in a weird play that kept him out an extended time. Just random stuff that happens on the court, not indicative of him being glass.

Its only 2 weeks and the upcoming schedule looks easy. They’ll be fine.

Fuck that sucks it didn’t look at bad. Hopefully he’ll be good for the playoffs.

Gafford’s gonna have a big load to bear. Cause we’ve got no one else.

At least outside of Miami the rest of our scheduled opponents don’t have amazing bigs but our interior defense is gonna be rough when Gafford is out.

  10. Dwight is going to step up and give us 15 quality minutes off the bench.

Jason Kidd on Dereck Lively II’s injury: “Concern, I don’t know is the right word. It could be two weeks where he could be out. But we’ll see how he feels. We’ll take it day by day, but hopefully, he’s back sooner than later.”

Lively makes a massive difference to this team. While this is really bad. We have a 2 game cushion so I’d rather be safe than sorry

  13. ZealousCatracho

Key word COULD, I think they’re just being hella cautious with him since the playoffs are around the corner.

  14. Drizzt3919

We will be fine. Get that boy healed up and ready for the playoffs

  15. CheetahSperm18

Why the hell do we have the worst injury luck

  16. KakashiDarui

FUUUUUUCK!!! We just had all the momentum too smfh

  17. Sendrocity

Man how far we’ve come that we’re terrified of Dwight coming in at backup when this man started for us for a significant amount of time

  18. Sal_Undee

They’ll be fine with their cupcake schedule. If anything it’ll make a bigger case for Luka MVP if Mavs close out on a winning streak without Lively.

Yall are some cynical fucks. We’ve still got gafford and are going into an easy stretch. We’ll find ways to win!

  20. Well there goes our wins and vibes with the Powell minutes incoming.

My guess is that if it looks like the 6 seed is jeopardy he comes back sooner rather than later.

This really sucks though and the kid will hopefully get more durable with time. I know the freak injury stuff happens but he needs to get stronger and find a way to stay on the court.

  22. Remarkable_Map_6552

This is a horrible butchering of the quote. Kidd is saying that “as an absolute max, he could be out for 2 weeks” with the type of injury he has.

He’s also 20 years old. He’ll certainly be back before then.

The only question is if Kidd is gonna do the right thing with the center lineups in his absence.

  23. End-Resident

Gafford can start full time lets see what he can do

  24. Hopefully fully healthy by playoffs. Real bummer

  25. qotsabama

Playoffs don’t start until what April 20th? As long as we avoid playin that’s almost 3 weeks of recovery.

  26. MagicMigsXXL

Dwight about to get 16 mins a game. Average 1/1/1 and 2 teammate injuries per game.

  27. _ShakenBacon

There is no way that Kidd doesn’t play Gafford 35+ min, right? Or is that giving him too much credit
