Growing Concerns Regarding Cavaliers Guard Darius Garland – Sports4CLE, 4/3/24

How concerned are you with Darius Garland all right since he’s returned uh from his broken jaw he’s averaging 16 points a game has only scored 20 or more eight times I think it was 24 or 26 he was averaging before that injury what have you seen with Garland and again I

You know at some point in time conditioning is a concern CU you can’t you obviously can’t run with your jaw wired shut um but how concerned are you with Garland and what you’ve seen from him yeah I think there’s a little bit of concern I thought he did a great job in

Utah in that first quarter when the Cavs went on a 15-2 run uh he he really was masterful in directing the offense so he will have moments like that again it’s a consistency thing he’s not really been shooting a whole lot uh you know I think he’s had eight points eight points

Against the Jazz and five in the game before that on two of eight shooting so I I just it’s clear that he’s just not right right now and whether that’s because of the jaw the broken jaw that you know kept him out for four weeks and don’t

Forget not only couldn’t he really run but he couldn’t eat during that time he lost eight pounds in four weeks so you know that’s probably something that’s not real easy to bounce back from but now we’re about a month into his return and uh it doesn’t seem like he’s gotten

Any really I don’t want to say better but he he’s just not been very consistent uh and they’re going to really need him to be the Darius garland that they were expecting him to be and that even he expects himself to be uh once they get into the playoffs because

It’s going to be real tough to advance uh you know with Donovan Mitchell having this knee issue and Darius Garland not playing up to really what his normal standard is since the allstar break

Dave Bacon and Sam Amico discuss what Darius Garland has done with the Cavaliers since returning from injury.
