NBA TODAY | “No one can stop Nikola Jokic from win third MVP”- Brian Windhorst on Nuggets beat Spurs

Can you believe Victor wanyama is only 20 years old I can he matched up with Nicola yic last night for the third time and he held his own and then some this may have been the game of the night as the Spurs visit Nicola yic in the Nuggets just watch this yic spins

Usually this is what he gets but what what Brian wior he had four times he blocked yic in this game most in his career and then on the other end making sure he cleans it up on offense too Zach look there’s no words the guy’s ridiculous me this is ridiculous forcing

Yic to consistently dunk or at least attempt three dunks and you can see his hook dunks in his career he went you have shot block when these two have combined for 27 points and all other players had combined for 26 in the first quarter they really were just on no no

No sorry no no doesn’t even get out of his hand he leads the league and block to it doesn’t even get out of the shooter’s hands first rookie since Alonzo Morning in sha to record six or more blocks in 10 games okay oh all right like this is this is a warning to

The rest of the league like when he’s knocking down threes it’s it’s going to be fully game over but these dimes though Malika Kevin Love the king of the outlet is anointing Nicola yic now the goat Outlet passer I mean it’s just that that that’s absurd perk I only even

Think LeBron James could make this pass we should have a staff contest who can make that pass the best I think I’m going with uh I’m going have to Rolling in the fourth quarter here though close game Nicola yic elevates slings that one up and in and gets that

One to go and then late in the fourth quarter here Victor putting his team on his back ties the game 105 all and then final seconds here Reggie don’t do it I’m warning you don’t do the category that Zach was talking about doesn’t leave your hands nope but the Denver Nuggets proving once

Again Christian Brown wants none of that but Michael Porter Jr does hits the big three here we Bama yic enormous games here and Nichol yic he was impressed with the young Phenom he’s a special player and you always need to do a special or extra things to to score against those guys I

Think when he learns and when he figures out it’s going to be a even bigger problem if you block more shot I’m going To something but he he blocked like four after that so I didn’t do anything about it it’s now time for Big Man Ballin brought to you by ESPN bet the official sports book of ESPN to perk both of these big men they were balling in the

My high city what did you see out of these goliaths let’s start with Victor well first of all I see in myself but listen when it comes down to Victor last week I said that the Europeans are taking over the game of basketball in the NBA and people got bad at me but

Damn it look at these two individuals right here we’re talking about the best player in the league that had 42 16 6 and two and we’re talking about the po the well the Rookie of the Year and went beyond but 23 168 nine blocks by the way this rookie right here is

Averaging 3.5 blocks do you know what person is next it’s a list of five that averaging 2.4 now look when it comes down to wimy you talk about taking a matchup personally we showed a few of them but check this out Malika I want them straight up look yic anybody else

This is a bucket Here Comes This alien give me that no one blocks joic hook shot but wimy does he beats wimy on the outlet wimby Chase it down with the off hand left hand now look this is wimy Irving look at this package he’s 75 maneuvering through the defense and

Watch the Finish though watch the Finish left hand scoop shot left hand scoop shot listen in three years the the MVP and defensive player of the year is going to belong to him it might belong to him this year when it comes down to the Spurs defensive rating they’re 28 in

The league when Wy is not on the floor they’re fourth in the league when he’s on the floor so I know a lot of people like myself has been crowning Rudy goldber but we might want to be careful and take notice to what this young man

Is doing what n yic he had 42 but look at this pass look at this pass the best passing big man ever ever to play the game of basketball and look Wendy was blocking yish layups in his hook shot you know what yish did First Team all

Whack body ah I’mma put you in the basket and I’m going get a poster to take to the crib to put next to my MVP finals MVP and championship trophy check this out chase chasing the trophies yeah 85 first place votes for MVP and ESPN straw pole received 85 of 100 first

Place votes and guess what M he’s on the verge of getting my boat well the straw pull that is where Tim bontemps goes pulls 100 voters mimicking the actual vot that we’re going to see here coming up in just a couple of weeks 85 votes it

Looks like he is well on his way third MVP you remember this big man I could not forget if I tried ESPN B is the official sports book whoa ESPN I’m not going to do that new users get $100 in bonus bets for making any sports book back and you can check out

Big perks parlay exclusively in the ESPN B app if you want to ride with perker any of the other big men you can download today what a play and yes I’m talking about perk’s kiss of himself tighter than ever the Pelicans currently hold the sixth and final playoff spot in

The conference they share the same record as the fifth place Mavericks at 45 and 30 they’ll host the magic this evening and then the sun’s right behind them 44 and 31 is their record they share the same record as the Seventh Place Kings the both teams have incredibly difficult remaining schedules

They host the Cavs at 1: p.m. right here on ESPN Lakers sort of in limbo in ninth 2 and 1 half games behind the Pelicans and Mavs for a top six seed and 4 and 1 half games ahead of the 11th Place Rockets they’re on the road tonight

Against the Wizards so again as we recap this whole thing the top six seeds make the playoffs while the seeds 7 through 10 will make the play in tournament as we know and even though the Kings and Suns have the exact same record in two of the three most difficult remaining

Schedules in the association ESPN analytics gives Phoenix the 25% chance at a top six seed while Sacramento’s chances sit at just 2% senior NBA Rider Brian windhorse joins us now here on Sports Center look it’s interesting because 12 games separate the first and second team in the East meanwhile 12

Games separate the first and 10 seed in the west and so to make sense of this let’s zoom in on a team let’s say like the Phoenix Suns for example who have beaten teams like the Nuggets but then have lost to teams like the Spurs without Victor we and yam so Wendy what

Are you hearing about this Phoenix team across the league they are a scary team and they are a mystifying team they are a team that on any night can be awesome and beat anybody and they can lose to anybody and been that way for five plus months they shoot the three-point ball

Very well but they don’t take that many of them they when they pass the ball they really generate major offense but they have ISO ball that dominates their offense at times they have three guys who are arguably among the 15 or 18 best scores in the league that all could end

Up in the Hall of Fame someday yet they rank 30th in the league in fourth quarter offense they are a very hard team to to figure out they play very differently from night to night but the idea of facing them in a one game playoff or in a series is disconcerting

When you see that kind of star power yeah well the fact that you said they play different from night tonight maybe is also a little concerning there’s 11 days left in the regular season to maybe find some consistency good for Phoenix they don’t have to leave the West Coast

Until their last game of the season which takes them to Minnesota Wendy hang tight Matt over to you yeah yeah we talk about those teams that are on the border and that’s the 76ers but they got a winning return last night from reigning League MVP Joel embiid it was kind of an

Up and down day for him listed his out listed as questionable there he is making his return of the lineup for the first time since January 30th one of the things that was noticeable about embiid throughout after missing those 29 games look that’s a lot of time when you’re

Not getting your basketball legs underneath you you could tell he was a little bit fatigue Sixers come the other way Tobias Harris hits the three you see him be just just four minutes in is like look let me get back into this maybe natural to put on a little non

Basketball weight while you’re rehabing then mbid mid-range jumper 12 in the first half was tired he had that look at that bulky brace on his knee all of this something he’s going to have to get used to as he fights his way back into playoff shape then MB to mid-range

Jumper ties it at 101 30 seconds play say what you want about embiid he made an impact Sixers win 109 to 105 and be would say after the game I thought it was pretty bad it’s going to take me a while to get back to myself and really

To trust myself but they got the win that’s alen I Wason having fun with them as Brian Windor is back with you Sixers play the Heat tomorrow night just a game and a half separating each of the teams from the seventh and eighth spots and

Beid says his goal is to play in this game but wisely Brian he’s talking about waiting to see how his knee feels a day after playing what is his status and prognosis going forward yeah there this is probably going to be one of these things where he’s going to decide after

Working out during the day of but I thought he looked really good he was obviously Rusty and out of rhythm but if you watched him in this game he got good elevation he moved side to side very well he got to his spots offensively okay he didn’t shoot the same percentage

That we saw him back in January but he was very much an influence on this game and look if you’re the Bost in Celtics I think you got to start rooting for Philly down the stretch here not that you’re afraid of him but right now they’re in eighth they’re two games back

In Miami two games back in the Lost column of Indiana and they’re behind in the tie break of both and we’re not sure how many games Joel is going to be able to play down the stretch Joel embiid with another six or so games under his belt facing off against the Celtics in

The first round that is not something that the Celtics have earned with their 59 wins to this point I remember when this injury went down and Brian wior was in the studio with me he said it’s going to be a wait and see situation for him

Be if and when he comes back that was last night but as you mentioned it’s going to have to be a day to day thing for him to see how comfortable he is and yeah you don’t want to see him as an eth seed especially with when he gets

Healthy how he can play meanwhile the Caps currently hold the third seed in the East Donovan Mitchell he’s dealing with the knee injury he sat out last night over Utah what’s the concern level right now with Mitchell in that knee Matt I think this is one of the biggest

Stories in Eastern Conference playoffs right now Donovan Mitchell has clearly not been himself since the All-Star break he is shooting under 30% on two-pointers uh since the break he doesn’t have faith in himself going in and fighting in the paint 55% of his shots when he’s played since the break

Have been three-pointers he shot them well but he is not himself he doesn’t have his lift he has shut it down twice he’s got PRP if the Cavs can’t get the Donovan Mitchell who was the all NBA player for the first half of this season it doesn’t matter where their seed is so

We’re going to see he took yesterday off we’ll see if he can start putting some good performances together because obviously the Cavs need him tonight in Phoenix but they need him in two weeks much much more and it’s it’s a really uh touch Ando situation right now whether

Donovan is going to be able to get back to a good place with that knee and now that crowd I told you so with the load management starting to come out as we get towards the playoffs and all these Superstars trying to battle their way back from injury more from Brian

  1. I seriously don't know why the media thinks it's impressive for a 7ft 5in player with an 8ft wingspan to get blocks. Bro should average 5+ blocks every year.

  2. I'm actually kinda shocked about what Perkins is saying about Jokic this season, it's like a totally different person talking, I think maybe just maybe he feels kinda guilty for last year…

  3. ESPN is in contract negotiations with the NBA. NBA ratings are in the toilet. ESPN is desperate to land the NBA and will say and do what ever they have to to please the NBA overlords. Jokic will win, he is amazing but NBA awards mean little in a time when there largest audience is for a 10th place Lakers team. The NBA is becoming an irrelevant sport in the US. Perhaps staying out of politics is a good way to repair the damage they have done to themselves in the past 4 seasons…

  4. What people don’t realize is that wemby only plays 27 minutes now let him play 38 minutes and he would of had a quadruple double easy

  5. Jokic isn’t good enough to be winning 3 MVPs don’t @me. We’re literally about to have a dude be a 3-time MVP when he hasn’t even been the best player in his position for the bulk of his prime.

I’m white and the white European glazing is at an all-time high in the nba rn. Luka fans are worse than Steph or Kobe fans ever were.

SGA has taken the Thunder, whose second bet player is a rookie, to the same record as Denver, while Jokic has a better supporting cast, AND a way better record than the Mavs, AND he will very very likely be first-team all-defense, something neither of Jokic or Doncic will ever sniff in their careers.

Luka has the ball for 9 seconds per shot clock, which is the most in the league by nearly 2 seconds. There’s about 12 other players in the league who could put up his numbers with his ball dominance.

TLDR SGA should be MVP and Jokic is only gonna be a 3-time MVP because Embiid is injury prone.
