First off coach what did you tell your team the lock I told him I’m proud of him um for being able to sustain our effort um with everything going on uh with a lot of the distractions that could have taken us away from this game uh being able to get

Our composure back U but then I also said that’s that’s a playoff game that’s about as physical as you can get and I think they did a great job of responding the right way they communicated at a high level the things that we needed to do both offensively and defensively but

Just being able to bounce back no matter what the distractions were within the game and to me that’s a big time sign of growth for for a young team that’s continues to learn how to win in these moments because these are big games mentioned before how it felt like a

Playoff game we’ve talked a lot over the last month or so that this team seems to enjoy playing playoff BR basketball was this game just an example of it absolutely was I mean you have to give credit to each person on this team for what they’ve done you know our bench

Kept us energized um the guys that didn’t play were into the game at a different at a high level talking and communicating what they saw on the floor our our our our starters did a great job of you know coming together communicating just it was we always talk

About it being by committee and this was a big time by committee effort and victory I know it’s no surprise but what did you see out of special he’s a special kid um the way in which he plays finds his teammates um took on defensive challenges tonight uh

But just his ability to keep trusting uh his team and his team to have the ability to trust him to make the right play down the stretch I think this it’s just continued growth I think every single one of these games just you continue to see him grow and understand

Exactly what teams are doing and the trust that his teammates continue to have in him you mentioned you mentioned Pao being special he started off one for what does it say about him just to stay in the game so kind of set the tone physically being able to attack the Bas

Get to the foul line what does it say about him to stick with it and find that and eventually find that Rhythm Third quter special said we’ve said it before the ability to do that and not be discouraged by What’s Happening by shot making or shot missing I think that’s

Huge the the fact that we are willing to sit down and guard uh take on those defensive challenges for for the most of the night uh but just not getting down I think you’re going to miss some shots and he never let it affect him he stood

Into the other ones and stepped into the other shots with confidence knowing down the stretch you’re going to go to him and he he delivered you know France delivered big time as well Jaylen made some big time plays both offensively and defensively and I just think these guys

Did such a great job of communicating and coming together when it got difficult you mentioned the the composure how how much of a tone does Pal set you know when he stays calm and when you know FR stays calm and when everyone’s just kind of staying with it even if the shots

It’s huge I mean for to watch their demeanor in these moments uh when you know you’re getting hit you’re getting grabbed you’re getting held all those things you know which is which is is okay with us you know that we Embrace that we embrace the physical that’s fine

But for our ability to stay the course no matter what’s happening that’s great for this team that’s great for these guys you mentioned the physical several times already how do you build a team that that likes to hit first that likes that likes to be hit and to end the

Out just don’t you’re afraid of contact you’re not afraid of contact you embrace it you you know you take what the game is giving you and but you’re not afraid to to bring it back but you know you do it the right way and that’s what our

Team continues to do I know you see I know’s standing right behind you but uh but what it mean to to see FR get a couple of those three-pointers going and to be able to attack B well the interesting part about it you guys were talking about it today and I think he

Mentioned to you his ability to just keep letting it go letting it Fly cuz that’s the truth that we feel and believe in him because of what he does in his body of work and what he’s continues to do um you know these guys do a great job of putting in the amount

Of work their coaches put amount of working with him and he’s you know we trust these guys to be able to continue to work and knock shots down thanks coach well first off What did Coach tell you guys after that win in the locker uh just it was a Hardy win uh

Proud of us uh you know gritty game so just proud of how we stuck together you guys showed a lot of Bo and G there after a slow start what changed for you guys after that first quarter when you guys were able to control the momentum second uh I wouldn’t really say anything

Changed I think we just stuck with it kept doing what we do um getting stops and moving the ball on offense you guys seem to enjoy playing a physical brand of basketball someone say a playoff style of basketball would you say that’s a style that you like to play and you

Feel comfortable playing especially did you get closer to the postseason uh for sure I think you know um I think it fits us you know that style of play I also just think you know it’s a it’s a better way to play cuz I think it um lets the players decide the

Game for the most part so uh yeah I mean um they’re a physical team so we knew coming in you know every time we play them it’s same style of game so we knew it was going to be physical and uh you know it was it was definitely you know

Lived up to that in both meetings you guys were able to slow down on uh what have been the keys to do that espe tonight yeah uh I would say it just takes all Five Guys on the court to be on a string and communicating um

Obviously when he has the ball uh you know he’s looking to get downhill so you got to kind of build a wall show them bodies and um just try and contest at The Rim you know you’re not going to block a shot too many times so you got

To just try and contest and and make it as tough for him to to finish as you can you talked about kind of having that composure fo to close the game I think you started the game 13 where did you find the composure or where did you kind

Of find the Rhythm to to to break through that and kind of kind of keep keep your cool to have that you have yeah I think just um it’s a mindset you know always being in attack mode I think the last couple games I’ve kind of just

You know haven’t had that mindset you know I let my foot off the gas um maybe that’s because of the opponent or whatever it may be so just getting back in that mind frame you know seven games left uh you know I told one of our coach

For the game like it’s time to for me to you know get back in that mode so um just trying to finish these last seven strong and you know roll into the postseason with some momentum I know I know you’re still young but you know this team has put a little bit of

Leadership on you do you feel like you have to kind of set the tone with with that with that level of play or you kind of feel that that en that energy kind of come off come off of each to everyone else when you play that impressive yeah

For sure I think um you know my teammates tell me that coaches tell me all the time just you know I got to be able I got to set the tone um you know when I’m not playing up to you know the level I should be then it it rubs off on

Everyone else so um when you when I’m carrying that responsibility you know I can’t take it lightly you know cuz we’re in a crucial part of the season and you know we got to get these wins so we can you know be in the best position you know possible everyone just kind of

Talking about how this this felt a little bit like a playoff game with the physicality maybe with the with the atmosphere too do do do you relish do you relish that kind of play do you like do you like it when it’s you know super fysical like this when the crowd’s kind

Of going up against you and you have to kind of hold off a team team like you guys did yeah for sure I mean that’s I think those type of games are the most fun uh when the crowd’s going you’re you know home or on the road just it’s an

Intense you know situation and uh that’s just when you’re able to come together you know as a team and uh you just really um are able to you know count on each other lean on each other and um make plays down the stretch to to get

The win when you know you guys have played a physical pred defense all year where did that kind of physical mindset or that physical mentality come from to be a team that you know hits first isn’t afraid to kind of dish it back if it’s if it served you definitely starts at

The top with the coaches coaching staff and then uh you know that’s just been the our mentality their message since training camp like I think we all been saying you know doesn’t just you don’t just wake up and decide you want to play physical you just just drilled in our

Heads um since before the season you know this is how we’re going to play this is our advantage you know how we can win games and you know slow teams down is with our defense and our physicality so I think everyone um understands that we all have we

Understand that we also have the Personnel to do it you know so I think we all kind of love love taking that challenge on night and night out on trying to you know make it hard for the other team New Orleans kind of lost their cool there at at at the end can

Can you sometimes sense that your physicality gets under a team skin like that uh yeah I think it does a little bit you know um I think that’s part of the the the thing is just you know being being physical being smart obviously but just you know hitting first like you

Said um you know setting the tone for for the other team you know knowing or them you know feeling that you know they know it’s not going to be easy you know they are going to obviously score and you know do their stuff but they know

It’s not going to come easy so um you know sometimes you are able to get them frustrated and um you know I don’t know what really happened there kind of just you know three ejections is is I’ve never seen that before so uh I’m not going to say we were the reason that

Happened but you know um I think just our play I think definitely frustrates you a little bit thanks Pete BR first off what was talked about in the locker room after the game aftern like um yeah that we that we had solid Poise after um you know that that travel

Call on Jaylen and we got a couple Texs so I think our po was really good in that moment how we got to stay together and um yeah how how we got to expect more of these type of games in in the future um as the season wind winds down so uh I

Think we’re responding really well today a lot of these games lately have been playoff brand basketball it seems like you guys enjoy playing that style of basketball would that be an accurate statement to say you guys enjoy that style definitely I mean uh it’s not a lot of fun playing meaningless

Meaningless games at this point of the year so um obviously the last two years we weren’t in the same spot so um um it’s really cool for us to you know have every game mean a lot and um yeah hopefully get a get a good spot

For the playoffs I think it’s a really cool thing for for everybody a lot of your recent games have been against playoff caliber teams teams fighting for playoff position and you’ll have a few more coming up here obviously tonight as well do you feel like this is a benefit

For you guys to play against top tier competition to kind of GE yourself for a playoff competition yeah I think um I think we still got a has stuff that we got to uh work on and improve on and I think these next games are are great opportunities to do so and

Um yeah gear up for hopefully a good playoff run mentioned the Poise several times got started off a really po shooting from from Flor how did you find the kind of place to to stay with things and and kind of keep keep at keep at

That grind to get back to get back in the game eventually take I think it was similar to the first game we played him um you know that we felt like we got good shots we were moving the ball really well um had a bunch of assists in the first half and

Um you know sometimes shots don’t go down so um I think we did a really good job of just keep playing our Brandon basketball and um yeah I think it paid off in this game yeah between between you and Pao you’re kind of two young young leaders of this

Team guys probably look to you guys a lot do you feel that responsibility to kind of set the tone whether it’s physically whether it’s with the offense whether it’s with the defense how would you have to to kind of get this keep this team on on the right on the right

Path I think so I think everybody has a responsibility but it’s it’s been communicated to us that um know we should be vocal and should be um you know taking responsibility as Leaders as well so um I think we’re both trying to do our best with that and um like we

Said obviously we’re we’re young so it’s not going to be perfect right at the start but I think we’re doing a solid job of of doing it how did how did you got I mean this this was obviously really phys really phys game you know Josh said kind of playoff like game how

Do you have the mentality how how how does it how did the team create this mentality to be a fysical team to kind of be a team that hits first and is not AF I think one it’s our mindset I think everybody on the team is um ready for

That and kind of has that mentality and then um I think we do it in practice we do it in in training camp so um at this point it feels different when we don’t do it you know what I mean it’s it’s become a habit at this point so we got

Make sure we keep doing it and maybe even get better at it obv obviously norleans maybe lost a little bit of their composure do do you relish when you kind of feel those moments of of a team not responding to the way you guys play yeah I think um normally I don’t

Really notice um what the other team does as much um but it was the end of the game well um we’re obviously happy with really happy with the win and um how we got it as well I think like I said I think we um stayed together

Stayed the court and um you know came out here with a with a good W thank you
