[Sam Amick] From 2015-16 to 2019-20, James Harden didn’t score in single digits once. He did it just 4 times in his last 3 seasons. He has done it twice in a row for these Clippers, and 10 times this season

  1. This is not that suprising. His role on this team is vastly different than his role on the Rockets during those years.

Still, we need more from him. Let’s get back to 15+ a game with 8+ assists.

Well, this almost guarantees that we sign him to a long term deal. Lawrence Frank is currently trying to figure out how we can get just a tiny bit older for next season, while writing down again how important the regular season is…

Different role, different usage rate. I will say though, he looks a lot slower and more lethargic. If he’s gonna continue to not show up like he did earlier in the season it won’t matter if Kawhi is active or not. Him being an effective player is the reason why we gave away Mook, RoCo, Batum, and KJ.

  4. I agree with the comments about his role/usage changing, but his shot simply looks way off. Like some of his 3s — even open ones — are such massive clankers. Don’t know if his shoulder is that injured or what, but it’s definitely concerning.

He doesn’t need to be a primary scorer, but if he can’t hit those shots with any sort of consistency then we’re in trouble.

Way lower usage rate and way fewer shots. Believe it or not, he’s still been very efficient this season (maybe not in the last 11 games or so due to his injury).

He was shooting around 46% from the field and over 42% from the 3pt shot in his 57 games. He was averaging over 18 points a game from just 11 shot attempts. He was very efficient. I do think if he got into a rhythm and didn’t have a shoulder injury, he could average close to 30 with more attempts.

  6. Hes old and injured thats why. Sure his role is different but that doesn’t mean he cant still score when needed. He has had plenty of times to step up and score. He is much slower and cant get around defenders like he used to and refs are letting players be more physical.

  7. It’s obvious his shoulder is bothering him. He should just rest while Kawhi is out so we can have both of them 100% for the playoffs.
