My first order of advice for the day folks is if you’re going to play on the NBA during the final two weeks of regular season action uh play on two teams that are facing off against one another that uh has playoff impli implications in terms of either making

The playoffs or seaing uh they’re playing for something uh not a team that’s the fifth seed right now and they’re not going to get any higher than a fifth unless something out of the ordinary occurs uh in this particular matchup that I’m going to discuss tonight it’s uh it

Involves the Denver Nuggets and the uh LA Clippers uh Denver right now is tied for the top seat in the west with Minnesota which is very important obviously unless you’ve been living under a rock all these years you know the top seat in either the east or west will have home court advantage

Throughout the playoffs uh in in their particular conference uh quarterfinal semifinal and uh division or Conference Final matchups um in the LA Clippers case they have a two- game lead right now over Dallas uh they’re currently number four in Dallas being number five and that’s important

As well I mean the Clippers uh with six games left to play for each team uh want to assure themsel of the number four seed what that assures them is homec court advantage at least in the first round of the playoffs so uh two teams

With a lot to play for here and right now uh we’re looking at uh a game that the LA Clippers are home Underdog in this matchup and rightfully so they’ve lost their last five at home and failed to cover their last five at home and they’re going to be without star player

Kawii Leonard tonight who averages 23.7 points per game um Denver on the other hand has been uh solid uh in the second half of the year it was so so first half but they’ve really come on strong in the second half but you know rather and concentrate on the side here because I’m

Not willing to lay points on the road against the Clippers even though they lost their last five at home but I’m going to look at the Clippers team total of 109.5 and again I mentioned they’re going to be without their leading scores tonight in Kawhi Leonard who averages

Just a shade under 24 points per game the Clippers have played Denver three times this year and they’ve only averaged 108 points per game uh and shot 43.4% from the field in those three games against Denver so it’s not like they’re putting up astronomical offensive numbers against Denver and uh

When you consider you’re out with without one of your top scorers tonight um again uh you would think if those numbers should be right around the average tonight or below uh Denver on the other hand is allowed 104 points or fewer in four of their last five and six

Of their last 10 uh the Clippers uh in their last eight games versus opponents that have a win percentage of 600 to 700 uh have only allowed 103.9 points per game so the better the competition the more the screws tighten defensively for the Clippers and uh that’s really getting yourself into playoff mode

Because that’s when the uh screws really tighten up defensively uh the Clippers uh have averaged just or excuse me have had just 85 field goal attempts or fewer in 10 of their last 12 games it’s not like shot the ball lights out yes they’ve had a few games of 50% or better

But 85% or or 85 field goal attempts or less in an NBA game is well below modern-day standards so it’s not like they played at a really fast pace and the three games between these teams have shown that uh neither team was willing to play at a frenetic pace so something

To keep in mind there I’m going to go with the LA Clippers here under their team total of 109 and a half against the Denver Nuggets that’s the LA Clippers under 109 a half uh is my play in the NBA on Thursday April the 4th uh folks
