[Law Murray] My understanding on Kawhi Leonard is that the Clippers are going to need to win some games without him. So he’s out tonight. I don’t expect him to be ready tomorrow or Sunday. We’ll see if he travels to Phoenix for that b2b. Not expected to be an extended absence, though

kawhi getting hurt just in time for the playoffs, again 😩

  2. nepats523

Werent going to win today or Sunday with him, just chalk those ones as loses already then

  3. AshenSacrifice

I’m not going to overreact just yet, but man if he can’t even play a full series this season it’s time to really wrap this whole shit up and start over.

Optimistic View: They are recharging him before he picks back up to close the regular season.
Pessimistic View: Deja vu. It’s over…

So they’re basically shutting him down for the playoffs. Tbf any matchup in the first round is gonna be brutal so best case scenario is to go with all our players healthy. Just glad he avoided a major injury

Kawhi: y’all need to figure out your little identity crisis.

The Clips should be able to beat the Jazz twice and the Rockets in the last game without Kawhi. Then they need one more win against either the Nuggets, Cavs, or Suns. If the Clips go 4-3 to end the season, I think that would be enough to finish as the 4th seed.

7 games left, don’t expect him to play in the next 3 but it’s not an extended absence. Non sense.

Unless I see him play going to assume the worse 🙁

As long as he’s healthy for the playoffs, that’s all that really matters.

Damn we could go 1-6 or 2-5, land in the play in and lose to the Lakers.

That’s where I’m at mentally. Dude just needs to play. I can’t believe after that December/ January that this is where we find ourselves. Battling to stay out of the play-in WITHOUT Kawhi this time.
    Insane.

If this is just “prove your worth in the next arena” for PG and JH, and they know they need a different roster for a deep run, alright I guess but it’s weird.

I see this as a positive. Our team needs to figure out how to win without Kawhi in the game, or at least how to play decently. Not saying we’re gonna make the finals without Kawhi, but it doesn’t hurt to prepare for the worst case scenarios.

I think the league needs to re look at some certain banned substances for the sake of injuries and their stars time missed ( because nobody wants that). There are some banned substances that don’t enhance performance but they do help injuries recover faster and I think this should be allowed because it’s not really giving anyone an in game performance boost. I don’t even think it would make people play harder mentally, like with reckless abandon because even if you know in the back of your mind you can recover faster, just the idea of getting injured and the pain associated with it still reserves a hard place in the mind to have that hesitancy.

I mean we have PG13 and Harden. We should go .500 to the end of the season.

Let kawhi rest till playoffs and recharge his batteries.

  15. Ummm I would classify this as an extended absence

If they have played better against the Kings, regardless of the results, he might’ve played today or tomorrow. Maybe I’m giving the coaching and FO too much credit, but they don’t want the team’s performance to drop off so dramatically when he’s not on the court. They are using this to hone the non Kawhi’s minutes in a game.

Not even sure we’re gonna hit 50 games at this point.

  18. DecapitateVeggies

At this point, I kind of see what they’re doing. I feel like they’ve shown they can win hard games when they all turn it on and play hard, I feel like they know this. Maybe at this point, it’s just get to the play offs and let the guys rest until then. Kawhi straight up out for some games and the rest of the guys taking their foot off the gas to “quite rest”.

Or maybe this is all copium lol

Time of the year when Clips fans toss and turn,

kneel and pray for good health.

Gods are kind to them most times not.

While other fan bases egg and beg stars be shut.

    Yet 5th and 5th o’years O’Brien cometh.

This year it’s fifth, pray ye gods smileth.

We’ll win some games. This team may be in a funk, but they’re still very good at their core. They’re just a bunch of vets who were ready for the playoffs at the all star break. Long season.

  21. Salty_Watermelon

We’ll have to rely on Dallas and New Orleans to continue dropping games if we want to stay in 4th. Btw it definitely sounds like an extended absence to me…
