  1. We had an entire scandal that received federal attention when NBA referees were caught influencing games as a result of an illegal betting ring amongst them. And now in 2024 we are fining teams for an issue that affects nobody other than the people betting on these games. Sports books have the NBA and Adam Silver by the balls and it’s only gonna get worse in other sports as time goes on.

The only reason this is an issue is that these things make the HOUSE lose money, not the fans. Every professional league is infiltrated by gambling.

I guess the 2 full months of everyone and their mother saying he’d be back in the first week of April wasn’t enough advance notice for Adam Silver and the sportsbooks?

  4. I’m fine with it, keep taking Josh Harris’ money for all I care lol

I wonder if the Knicks will be fined for knowing Randle would be out for the season weeks ago

Every team should just list every player questionable every game. The Lakers do it with LeBron and AD, why can’t everyone do it?

I’m sorry, is this the same player who was criticised by the league and the media for *not* playing through severe injuries back in January, leading to him being out for months because he aggravated that injury then playing through it? That Embiid? Jesus fuck has the league learned nothing? Do they want him to even play, or just use him as a punching bag?

they salty Embiids back LMFAO lil bitches

  9. Adam silver can continue to wage his never ending war with the process but he can never keep us down

only reason for the Sixers to do it this way was to surprise the Thunder and maybe get a little edge. If that win helps them avoid the play in and guarantee a second playoff home game, the $100k will have been a small price to pay

Really couch psychoanalysing here but… Based on all the vagueness from the team and Nurse and what Joel said about it being really tough mentally to come back this time, I’m going to guess there he was medically ‘ready’ to work out with the team and ramp up sooner than when he did by a week or two and he was too depressed and/or anxious to perform

The team, at least Nurse and some other coaches, would have known Jo was going through shit mentally and that publicly saying that to the media would make it worse. Especially because it’s Embiid so he’d get nothing but hate that he’s soft or all he cares about was awards

So you eat fines for your MVP because his mental health is more important
