  1. The Nets are 7-15 and are officially eliminated from the Play-in tournament. That should come as no surprise to any fan that follow the Nets. It would've taken more than a Herculean effort to turn this franchise into a playoff team. I hoped but not expected Ollie to accomplish any more than Jacque Vaughn when he took over as head coach previous to him. In addition to Sean Marks past poor decisions, one of the most egregious was to fire Jacque Vaughn in the 1st year of his 4 year contract. Where was the commitment to one of the most dedicated Nets coaches in the history of the franchise? Previous head coach Kenny Atkinson and Steve Nash had no NBA coaching experience and was shown more patience than he under better circumstances. Even when KD demanded that Marks and Nash be fired as a condition for him staying with the Nets, Joe Tsai knuckled down that he's satisfied with his coaching staff. Leadership start at the top. As a result of retaining Sean Mark, who have proved his incompetence as the GM, Joe Tsai is in the mix as one of the worst owners in the history of the Nets franchise. With Tsai and Marks at the helm, next season, how mush could the Nets fan based realistically expect out of this team next season?

  2. The Rangers did itā€¦the Mets are trying to do it now. We know what we need to do. Stop with this Donovan M. talk. Butā€¦ and this is a huge but, is Sean Marks the guy to do it?

  3. Sean Marks good picks: Caris LEvert , Jarret Allen, Cam Thomas, Nic Claxton, Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson.
While Solid players, Marks failed to find supreme talent. If you put these names on one team- they win 35 games at most.

The Nuggets drafted Jokic lower, the Spurs drafted Ginobli lower, The wariors drafted Draymond Green lower. While Sean Marks is good at finding talent – sure. Is it talent good enough to stay in league – sure. But he doesnt take chances on supreme talent. He traded Lopez + Kyle Kuzma for Dlo @LockedOnNets
Is sean a draft god? or was Kenny elite at development?

  4. My feeling is that Nets are waiting to sign a star in free agency, people are saying D Mitchell will join the Nets but that doesn't make sense. His going to a worse situation with the Nets. Plus what other superstars are on the market? Does anyone think the Nets would go though and rebuild ie get all their pick back and rebuild through the draft. There's gonna be alot of losing if that's the plan?

  5. C Thomas
    Mikal Bridges
    SF –
    N. Clowney
    N. Claxton
This should be the starting 5 for the last 5 games of the season.

  6. Unless sean marks is removed this summer there's very little hope for this organization. This team needs to go into a proper rebuild and that man cannot be trusted to do the job

  7. There is soooooooo much more to being a GM than drafting players soooooo much more. Problem is marks is good at arguably the easiest and least important aspect of being an NBA GM. I can name a plethora of other skills that are more important.

    1. Picking the right coaches. Doesnā€™t matter who you draft if you coaching stinks. Marks has routinely picked bad coaches.

2.Your basketball philosophy. Again, players donā€™t matter if your basketball philosophy stinks. Marks has routinely leaned into small ball lineups which year after year fail.

    3. Ability to pivot when things are not going well. Marks is a master of being a day late and dollar short every time. Nets might end up trading DFS or Bridges but it wonā€™t be nearly for what he could have gotten for them. Thatā€™s a bad GM move right there. And then doubling down on poor decisions.

    4. Have expert communication skills with stars. Say what you want about Harden, Kyrie, and KD that doesnā€™t happen if Pat Riley was the GM. Marks failed to lead.

    5. Ability to accurately assess the talent on your roster and how it fits together. Marks may be good at drafting good players but this isnā€™t fantasy basketball the players actually have to work together. Marks roster building is questionable at best and worse he over values the players he has.

All of these skills are more important than a GMs draft grade or whether they have success when there are zero expectations at all. It is easy to draft players low in the draft because if they fail nobody is holding that against you. So far when there have been expectations to win Mark has shown his whole ass.
