Jokic played 74 games and Embiid played 36 games, yet Embiid attempted 7 more free throws than Jokic in total this year. Also, Jokic attempted 541 more shots, yet he has fewer free throws, despite playing quite physically with bunch of bruises every game. What causes this discrepancy?

The refs don’t call Jokic getting hacked and call minimal contact on Embid that’s the difference. It’s a skill Embid is far better at than joker

Honestly this more goes to show the flaws of how fouls are being called in todays league and how certain bad styles of play get rewarded for no good reason.
Its kinda absurd how some guys play in such a way that they barely even try to actually get good looks and just try and get some contact for calls.
The issue isnt that Jokic, Steph and other guys dont get enough calls, but that certain guys get too many for foul baiting.

For context, during Shaq’s time teams literally had an extra 1-2 bigs on their roster whose only purpose was to foul Shaq.
