Here come the people who can’t move on from something that happened two decades ago lmao

“hE qUiT oN Us” “wHaT dID He eVeN do!?!?!” Incoming

  4. It is deserved just due to his impact if not his on court achievements which were good but not great

I’m glad he made the choice to retire as a Raptor, I think it is the right decision personally for him and the Raptors

I literally remember everyone at my school only being a Leafs fan & then 1 yesr later all you saw was a sea of Vince jerseys & Raptors gear.

    The revolution was real.

There’s more people here complaining about hypothetical people that don’t like VC more than VC haters lol. Also feels like they’re setting up their own arguments to argue against.

I don’t think anyone who criticizes VC still is saying that they shouldn’t HoF him for his Raptors exit. I’ve never seen that argument. The argument is the Raptors shouldn’t give Vince the ultimate franchise honour, jersey retirement, because of it. It’s not speaking to the greatness of an entire career, like a HoF nod does. That is absolutely deserved. We just don’t think VC should be venerated by us for how his time here went.

  7. Well deserved. 💯

    Congrats VC

E: Weird that’s simply saying congrats and nothing more gets undervotes.

Being inducted into the basketball HOF was expected but the Raptors should still hold off on retiring his number.

I dont care what the haters say. He was our Jordan. He put Toronto on the map. He electrified the NBA. Sure I am pissed how he left. If he and McGrady could have stuffed their egos they could have won championships in Toronto.

I wish he stayed in Toronto for his career and we had Masai as our GM earlier during the Carter era. That would have been special.

Funny thing was the Raptors drafted Antwain Jamison in ’98, who was the Naismith player of the year. And when he was traded to GS for Vince Carter, many people though it was a dumb move.

Also, this is a fact . No other Raptor electrified the NBA as he did. Not Lowry, Demar, Bosh or even Kawahi. He was arguably the best NBA player in the League as a Raptor.

‘The Talent Code’ talks about areas becoming talent hotbeds after a moment of ignition. If you look at how much basketball talent is coming out of the GTA and Canada these days, I’d bet growing up and watching VC play is a massive part of it.

Even though he had a bad exit from the Raptors, Vince Carter is one of the most iconic athletes Toronto has ever had, and might have been the most exciting player in the NBA during his prime here.

On sheer ability and potential top 2 player to ever suit up for the Raptors.

Lowry is only the greatest Raptor of all time by default. Just happened to be the best player that had been around the longest when we won a ring. In actuality, we never would have been able to win without Kawhi. Kawhi had already been there and done that. Lowry would be ringless. We almost traded him to the Knicks and he quiet quit on the team when we traded Demar and wanted out multiple times.

Raptors fans rewrote history after the fact though.
