I’ve seen mocks of him going as high as 3 and as low as 14. He had some nice performances in the Tournament but I’m not certain he dramatically improved his draft stock to the point where we wouldn’t have a shot at drafting him. I didn’t watch all the UCONN games, but that 14/14/8 block game stands out, and he was efficient from the flooor throughout. I first welcome your thoughts there.
his shot blocking would help any team, so here’s why i think he’d fit well with our roster as it stands next year: he rebounds, is reliable around the basket and is a large human being. DA would be a [good option to play the 4](https://arizonasports.com/story/2092014/suns-deandre-ayton-says-pf-is-his-born-and-raised-position/). he can defend NBA 4’s and plays like a traditional PF offensively. Grant has the offensive skillset of a 3, and is allergic to rebounding which is where Clingan would help the most. a front court of Clingan 7’2″, Ayton 7′, and Grant 6’7″ gives a 3 level scoring threat with plus size length and improved rebounding.
some drawbacks: spacing since DA doesn’t shoot the 3 well, and Grant’s ability to keep up with NBA 3s on defense as he ages. Clingan does not shoot free throws well, so he probably won’t improve much shooting away from the basket.
