A lot of this is just the NBA hyping their product. The way basketball works, a lot of games go down to the final basket, or the final 5 minutes, that’s good! That means the teams are competative with each other (or that the reffing sucks and the game is rigged, but hey, this isn’t time for conspiracies).
Embiid coming back is good for the sixers and good for the NBA. It won’t be fun if the East is a runaway for Boston, even if that is the most popular team. Good dynasties need good rivals, like the Chiefs v Bills.
Ofc, FTC, and I would love to see my man miss out on the regular season MVP to win the Finals MVP ala Jockic last year, but I’m keeping my expectations in check, given our history and given the road to the finals.

On the downside of things, we lack the complimentary talent to put games away. But on the upside, we have by far the best 2 man game in basketball. Embiid and Maxey together is such a cheat code. If we can get complimentary players that can actually shoot next to them…
