This is not an excuse but the key players for Phoenix played almost 40 minutes the night before. The Cluppers that played were fresh due to not playing or not playing the night before at all. Plus, they were youthful to hungry. No excuse but context.
The only likely 'big' trade we can make in the off-season is to move Durant on… Try to get back a real good PG and a solid SF in return. Booker and Beal's offence is potent enought to build around. Oh, and obviously change the coach.
FLEX I AM WITH YOU, WAITING FOR IDENTITY MOMENT
As long as the big 3 are given enough shots like tonight which were about 20 each you can count on them in the closing minutes. It doesn't matter how efficient they were in total but as long as they continue getting shots throughout the game, eventually they will find their rhythm. By doing that at least in the final minutes you can put pressure on defense to try to stop multiple rather than just focus all attention on which one was hot throughout the game.
Our main problem all season has been just continuing to feed the hot hand. You can see almost every game, two of the big 3 just forcing the ball into the hand of who has got it going and they just go stand in the corners. When they do that for 3 quarters the two of them don't get in the flow of the game as they just watched all night. Then defense crowds that hot hand in the 4th and the other two can't make a shot because they were never in the game and have no feel or rhythm to make the shots when it matters. Or throughout the game when the hot hand is forced to pass back to them, they can't make a shot as they have already made up their mind that they will just watch instead of being aggressive early.
Now they just throw it up cause of the shot clock is expiring and it's a bad shot with no result. Guys like Allen see that happening throughout the game and that's why sometimes you see him putting his head down and attacking constantly. Or he will shoot it even if the big 3 are wide open next to him. Even though I get little mad when he misses but when he makes it, I don't care. He knows that the two of the big 3 are just forcing the ball into one hand and just standing and watching. Why should he pass it to them when they don't show that they want it. So, in the 4th quarter when Allen usually shoots badly it becomes harder to find that second option beside the hot hand to carry us home.
The big three have to understand they need to continue attacking and taking enough shots throughout the game instead of forcing one to make it all. Only then can we rely on the three of them to show up in the 4th.When the three get enough shots there is really no defense to scheme for them in the 4th to take all three away. It is by design teams will be happy to just let one cook all three quarters and force the other 2 who were cold all game to beat them in the 4th quarter. I don't understand how come they still haven't figured that part out.
They want to be unselfish by keep going to one who has got it going but in reality, it looks selfish when it doesn't produce the necessary results at the end which is winning. It also doesn't hurt Nurkic didn't take too many layups or that Allen took less shots to allow Beal to get his which helped us close it out, as the big three were firing from all sides in the 4th.
If you want to hold the big three accountable for losses, then you first have to allow them to get enough shots in each game. When one has taken a lot of shots and the other two didn't, we usually are conflicted. Like ohh he took too many shots, or they didn't show up. Just get all three to keep getting shots up and there is a better chance in the closing minutes at least two will have been hot enough to bring it home.
Maybe they should have lost…maybe that would appease this band of cry babies. Seems like there was nothing the suns could have done with out them crying. Dont do the show then
