Here we go again. Every year they're saying 76ers is the biggest threat to the Celtics and every year Celtics put them out. The Bucks too if you want to be honest. Only time the Bucks beat them is the one year they had Kyrie. I would've actually agreed if you said the Miami Heat. That seems to be the only team that gives them problems in the East

The biggest enemy of the Sixers in the playoffs were terribly constructed rosters for Embiid and Awful Coaching and then Embiid's Injuries. Behind the other 2 which is nuts to say but true.

Joel Embiid is a looser. Why he never play in the playoffs like he does in the regular season. He never showed anyone that he’s to much for Boston. Gilbert Arenas is a 💯 right what he said about Embiid.
As a Sixers fan please do something this year. Team is better and coaching is but got to finally do it.

Your take on Embid is old news! Nobody, including Horford, can stop Embid and he will eat up Porzingas. The biggest difference this year will of course be coaching, Doc did nothing but hold the Sixers back.

Obviously Gil hasn't looked at the 4th quarter numbers of the Sixers…where Maxey leads the team in 4th quarter points but hey who cares about facts…..
Sixers fan here and a couple things:
1. The Celtics 100% have our number, and they have for years. I don't know what it is but they just play us extremely well.
2. We have a new (and much better) coach. Nurse is lightyears ahead of Rivers, and he's made a huge difference.
3. This is easily both the deepest and most well rounded roster the Sixers have had in the Embiid era. Even when comparing it to the '18-'19 team that lost to the Raptors at the buzzer — that team was a bit more top heavy, but there were spacing and fit concerns. The current team is full of athletic wings and defenders, and most importantly: we have a mountain of shooters. When Embiid is playing, there are 7 guys on the roster shooting above 37% from 3 (6 of them are above 38%). You look at a supporting cast of Maxey, Oubre, Batum, Harris, Hield, Melton, and Lowry. Point is – this is an extremely complete roster.
I like our chances this year, but we need to prove it. Boston has owned us year in and year out, and a matchup with them is inevitable if we want to win it all. Embiid has to show that he can play at his peak against them, which he hasn't done before.

A lot of pundits including gil are simply not watching the sixers. They don't know what's cooking right now which is a good thing.
Man Shannon is always so smart and a historian of the sport but he's dead wrong when have the 76ers proven anything in the playoffs espe5vs the celtics tatum owns them bums.

The difference is sixers now have one of the best coaches in the nba compared to previously having the bum doc rivers. Gil trippin.
Gil is definitely living in the past right now. He's acting like the Sixers, Celtics and Heat are the same teams from last year. The Sixers and Celtics are both better while the Heat are definitely worse. The Sixers matchup much better with the Celtics than they have in previous years defensively. In previous years, the Celtics were just bigger at every position outside of Center and had a much better bench. The Sixers bench this year with Melton and hopefully Covington back for the playoffs is actually capable of competing in those off minutes. I'm really hoping these teams get to meet in the ECF with both teams healthy because it'll definitely be the best series of the playoffs regardless of who wins.

Every year, we get to the second round and choke so hard, specifically vs the Celtics. Brett Brown and Doc Rivers did not really make adjustments in those past playoff runs, Nick Nurse can do those on the fly which is amazing but we have to just get shots in and hopefully be healthy, too. I am ok with getting a play in spot or a play off spot, but if we want to keep being warmed up, we should go through play ins and keep going on this streak of wins.
We are going to pretend that the only team that has choked harder than the Celtics every year is their biggest threat. Come on son. Let’s let them get out of the second round before we start this talk.
