Nah, I’d say he’s significantly overrated. Undersized, terrible defender and his offensive impact is minimal. There’s a reason he was always a bench PG, which is where he should be.

  2. >He likes the transparency of the first-year front office led by president Michael Winger and general manager Will Dawkins. “They want to win, they want to get this organization back into a much more competitive place,” Jones said. “At the same time, that doesn’t happen overnight. And I feel like the approach has been correct day in and day out.”

    >Opposing teams inquired about Jones’ availability at the February trade deadline, but the Wizards didn’t move him because they like what he provides. “I’m looking to obviously continue to be a starter, but I just want to continue to be valued,” Jones said. “And honestly I feel like that’s value here. I feel like they allow me to be the leader that I know I am. They allow me to be the point guard on and off the court, extension of the coach on and off the court, and to play my game and to try to continue to influence our team in the right way. For me, that’s what’s important. See what happens.”

The Wizards didn’t move him because they like what he provides. I like what he provides too, but he’s obviously not the point guard of the future, so why are they letting him trudge away while we could instead be letting Jared Butler, who is just 23, get those reps.

It sounds like there’s a good chance he signs back here and is here all year next season. JFC are we rebuilding or not? Is Tyus dope? Yeah in his own way. Do I agree with having him be here another year, OP? No I do not, lol

Tyus is ok if he’s like, your 5th best starter. But he’s doesn’t excell enough at anything except passing to lead a team or anything unfortunately.

  4. Tyus can help a team as a backup point guard if everyone else plays great defense and no one else is a ballhandler. He’s a brutal fit on the Wizards where not many guys play good defense, and a lot of guys need the ball to be effective on the court. Unfotunately since this may be the only place he can start and get paid, he’d rather stay here and lead the tank.
