Luka is sneakily having one of the best 3-point shooting seasons from any player not named Steph Curry.
Only 5 players in NBA history have made more threes in a single season than Luka has this season; **Steph Curry** (seven times!), **James Harden** (twice), **Buddy Hield** (once), **Klay Thompson** (once) and **Paul George** (once).
It’s looking like he will finish this season 13th all-time, in made 3-point field goals in a single season.

Luka will probably sit the last game of the season, so he won’t be able to extend the number of threes made further and Donte could overtake him if he goes crazy in his last game, but ultimately, I think 13th place is where he’ll end the season.
I don’t think anyone, even those who are the most optimistic Luka stans saw this coming before the season started. His efficiency has always been sub-par but this season it seems he kind of tweaked his form and improved his conditioning, which has resulted in his efficiency being beyond what anyone expected of him. It is honestly one of the most impressive things he’s done this season.
Imagine, if he plays 75 games, could he get to 300+ threes in a season? If he even gets more efficient could it result in 340-350 threes in a season? Or is this the outlier season, and regression awaiting him next season?
If Luka ever becomes a 40% 3-point shooter, he would probably break the NBA. Who knows what the future holds but Luka potentially being one of the best 3-point shot-makers in the league is just another reason why (in my opinion) he’s the best offensive player in the NBA.
He probably won’t be given the NBA MVP Award this year but he’s our MVP, and I hope this 3-point shooting season won’t be lost in the overall story of this season. It’s been a special season. Looking forward to how Luka’s shooting will take him to new levels in the playoffs. It should be fun.

Yeah, I don’t think Luka gets enough credit for increasing his 3pt% from around 34 to 38% on high volume and difficulty.
