LeBron has officially locked up 25/7/8 averages in his 21st season, even if he puts up 0/0/0 in the last game of the season. No one else has ever done that after their 10th season before.

Other fun facts from that account:

– [LeBron is the oldest (and 2nd oldest, and 3rd oldest) player to average 25+ PPG in a season. And the youngest.](https://x.com/georgemikan/status/1779157593946313078)
– [LeBron locked up his 20th consecutive season of 25+ PPG last night. For context (min. 41 games): Jordan and Wilt have 18 total combined. Malone has the 2nd longest streak at 11. His streak started before GG Jackson was even born.](https://x.com/georgemikan/status/1779157090746912950)
– [Seasons averaging 25+ PPG, 6+ RPG, 6+ APG: LeBron James: 20 (consecutive). Everyone else post-merger: 27.](https://x.com/georgemikan/status/1779182779298672883)

As Kevin Durant put it, [that longevity HAS to mean something.](https://twitter.com/ClutchPoints/status/1759261807800131882)

  1. Yes there is more offense but it’s so impressive how he’s been able to do continue these numbers. It doesn’t make sense and I wish he would play for a new team next year

  2. SimpleManofPeace

The most consistently great player of all time

  3. Diamond4Hands4Ever

Russell Westbrook kinda did this past his 10th year but if you strictly set the cutoffs at exactly 7 rebounds and 8 assists I guess not. Westbrook was like 27.2/7.9/7.

  4. HitboxOfASnail

averaging 25 for 20 seasons is absurd. his scoring record will never be broken IMO. The combination of elite talent, health and longevity will never be matched

  5. Robinsonirish

    >Seasons averaging 25+ PPG, 5+ RPG, 5+ APG…
    – LeBron James: 20 (consecutive)
    – Everyone else post-merger: 27

Am I reading this correctly that there have only been 47 seasons where a player has averaged more than 25/5/5 since merger?

    That doesn’t seem right, really?

Just really fast looking at a few players, Kobe did it 8 times, Jordan did it 8 times, Durant 8 times… that’s 24 times just checking 3 players.

Seems like a bullshit statistic to me.

  6. ProfessorPrimetime91

Incredible longevity and dedication to the game. Even as he breaks all these records or earns enough money to have the next 5 generations live comfortably, he’s STILL putting up all-NBA type numbers. Whatever you wanna say about rings or how his career developed, that should earn nothing but respect.

  7. StraightCashBND

What if he scores like 200 points, he’d probably be at 26ppg right?

  8. Zoulogist

Calling it now, LeBron’s retirement game will be 27-7-7

  9. Due_Connection179

These longevity stats are getting just absurd now.

  10. He need to up the scoring, he’s in danger of dropping below 27 over his career

  11. FourCylinder

That post merger stat made me do a double take lol

  12. For me Lebron as all right to be called the GOAT as much as MJ. There is no wrong answers to who is the GOAT if u say its LB or MJ.

  13. KaiserKaiba

25ppg or more for two decades is some wild shit

  14. staffdaddy_9

Lebron having 20 seasons averaging 25-6-6 and everyone else having 27 combined doesn’t seem real. That’s insane

  15. BabyHercules

Man somehow exceeded his expectations coming into the league. I can’t wait for the Lebron documentary

  16. What he’s doing is insane. People are numb to his greatness/longevity because he’s been great for so long. It’s not normal to still be an all-nba level player at age 39.

  17. D_Simmons

Being the youngest and oldest to average 25 points/game is a certifiably insane stat.

  18. TitanMerchant

Genuinely the best or at worst 2nd best player thats ever stepped foot on a court. Glad I got to watch his entire career

  19. Altruistic_Sorbet164

Not trolling, but what he’s done from 2020 on has changed my mind on him actually being the GOAT

  20. Camctrail

It’s really hard to comprehend even the slightest possibility that the scoring record will ever get broken again. Luka would have to continue to average 33 a game and play 70+ games a year until like year 19 just to get to 40k, and LeBron is gonna leave 40k in the dust

  21. Orphasmia

Sports medicine is getting significantly better, but i still think many of his longevity-based accolades are going to be incredibly difficult to surpass

  22. WembyandTheWolves

I made this comment awhile ago but he has outgrown/outpaced every player comparison throughout his career except for Jordan. At some point the sheer numbers will make it as obvious as the Melo, Pierce, Wade, Durant, Kobe, etc.

At the end ,do the extra 8-11 years of LeBron producing like this, outweigh the increased championship success? Thats like an entire “legendary-career” more. I think I lean Lebron, which is crazy to think about even just 3 years ago.

  23. BillyBean11111

I was never a doomsayer of Lebrons decline but 5 years ago I was ABSOLUTELY sure he would be in the “game management” part of his career now with reduced minutes and like 15/4/4 averages with the occasional vintage Bron performances here and there.

    Woops.

  24. If this ain’t goat shit i don’t know what is

  25. VirtualClient6760

    I checked practical every comment

    And didnt see this
    SO
You are my sunshine my only sunshi-

real talk, this man is actually my goat, and idc what ur opinion is on any debate
this man is an all time amazing elite player, and in my opinion
easily gonna be top 3 for decades to come

some of these young players may end up shitting on records like these and tearing apart the playoffs lile mj
    Who knows

  26. VanGrants

he has one of the two greatest peaks in NBA history and has managed to be All-NBA level this long past it. un-fucking-believable.

  27. Superplex123

    >As Kevin Durant put it, that longevity HAS to mean something.

I know not everyone feel this way, and it’s OK because people are allowed to have different opinions, but that longevity combined with excellence meant LeBron is the GOAT to me. So 100% agree with KD.

  28. This guy might just mess around and hit a quarter of a century with those averages

  29. 2cantCmePac

Lebron predicted this when he was 5 years old. LeStradamus
