The Nuggets decide to not risk their stars for the longshot at the one seed. In the process they give Wolves fans hope and Thunder fans something to worry about.

OKC needs a win tomorrow, and a Denver win OR all to lose to get the 1 seed.

MN needs a win tomorrow and Denver loss or OKC loss for the 1 seed

Denver needs a win and Wolves and OKC loss tomorrow for the 1 seed

Wolves face the Suns

Nugs face the Grizzlies

OKC faces the Mavs

If they do rest their guys, I wonder if it’s just to avoid the injury risk or if they want to play the standings and avoid Minnesota until the Conference Finals.

  2. Just rest the starters, being healthy is the most important thing. Near the top seeding is whatever, you have to beat everyone anyway.

With the Mavs resting everyone, the odds that a win improves the Nuggets’ seeding is almost nil, so I get the rationale. Thunder fans rooting for KD and the Suns to win, I guess.

Interesting thing is that if the nuggets lose to Memphis while OKC and Minny both won, wolves would be the 1st seed and Thunder the second seed.

Thunder probably wins against g league mavs so if denver does not care about homecourt advantage in the second round they might throw away the game vs memphis if they prefer OKC over Minny in the second round.

Not sure I buy it. Denver is still -13.5 tomorrow. Minny has a very losable game against Phoenix and idk why Denver would throw away the chance for home court against them.

Doesn’t this help the Wolves because a Thunder win, Nuggets loss, and Twolves win gives the Twolves the 1 seed.

Jokic ducking Kenneth Lofton, Jr. Sad to see from a so-called MVP. Luka would never.

Makes sense. Only way they get the 1 seed is if they win and Thunder/Timberwolves both lose. It is highly unlikely both of them lose so might as well just accept fate as the 3 seed. Nuggets vs Pelicans will be fun. Feel bad for the Pelicans cause they’ll get bounced in the first round but they likely had a path to the WCF if they could avoid the Nuggets.

Haven’t all the starters been questionable for a while now? Jokic has been questionable for weeks every game, yet he still played.

I see Denver wants to duck the clippers or mavs too haha

Just to be clear. This guy is a doomer on Nuggets media and also says things hoping to jinx them. He could be right, but just so you know more about him

It looks like we’re probably going to end up the two seed, then?

At least we’ll know our opponent sooner, I guess… we just need Zion and CJ to knock the Lakers out of the 8 seed.

Dang the one game i was gonna be able to watch in memphis. Maybe next year..

Mavs and Clips fans hitting the griddy right now.

Id feel better about it if the Wolves would’ve beat Phoenix more than what feels like twice in the last 10 years.

i’m somewhat surprised they are not trying to get the 2nd seed but I guess it doesn’t make a significant difference. Honestly, imo, most likely the top seeds outside of denver are going to get knocked out of the first round just like last year.

I knew we were going to try to do some standings manipulation at the end the second Jokic started saying how little they care about seed, how much they value rest, and just looking at how crowded the lower seeded teams were. Malone is no stranger to intentionally losing games in previous seasons to try and secure a matchup he favors, and I believe we’re seeing it again this year.

They should just sit everyone out. You already lost the spurs game, that most likely disqualified you from a top 1\2 seed.

Pelicans in the 1st round might actually be a better opponent over a more experienced team like Lakers\Warriors\Suns. Unless Zion goes crazy his first playoffs.

It’s a fair move. If the nuggets stay healthy they likely repeat. Only a healthy Boston could be favored against them in my opinion and even then it’s a toss up

Wemby really just completely put his stamp on the western conference playoffs from the grave of eliminated teams lol
