Between Gorman, Breen and Fratello, Mike’s gotta be one of the best names to have in sportscasting. All joking aside, I’m gonna miss Mike a lot. He’s had such a successful and long career, but I still hope that he’ll stop by to commentate every once in a while 🙂

Some of the people I have loved listening to giving props to my favorite. I’m not crying, you are crying.

Reggie should have said more considering Mike was there in half his big playoff games.

Replace Mike with Eddie House. Eddie is a real one he was here for only 2 1/2 seasons and he loves being with us. He had a great career and was a journeyman yet he spends the most the with us. He played on 9 different teams.

In the mid 80s I was a confused only child pre-teen growing up as the product of divorced parents in Brookline and the great Larry Bird Celtics were my one true passion and joy. Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn were like surrogate dads to me back then. I’m now 50. Props to one of the all time greats. Love you, Mike. You, Tommy and Johnny Most were the voices of my childhood.

I met Gorman very briefly once. It was half time and he was heading to the tunnel when I saw him. I said “Hey Mike!” He turned around and I froze and all I could say was “my family loves you!” He gave me a big thumbs up. It was amazing. I realized later that he was probably hustling to go pee before the game restarted. But he still took time to say what’s up. Also the dude is way taller than I thought he would be
