Considering the patchwork lineups he had to play with most of the year, there’s a lot of potential for growth in year 2. Even just playing with the same lineups consistently will help cut down the turnovers and the fouls on defensive rotations. He’ll be solid next year, with the potential to be great further down the road.

Encouraging. But he seriously need to learn his left hand and finish around the rim.

If you told me after draft night that Scoot would average 14, 5, and 3 on bad efficiency then I would take it. Up and down season for the rook but he remains one of the most exciting young players in the game today.

Really need to see how the second year leap goes.
Right now he looks like low level starter to good backup potential, similar to Brogdon (who still needs to be traded).

You can see the talent and possibilities, but he also looks completely lost sometimes.

The improvement over the course of the season was promising. Really strong finish. We’ll see, but the current roster construction certainly isn’t doing him any favors.
But in short I think he had a really up-and-down season, and I don’t think we really know enough to say anything conclusive about his future yet. I don’t think he conclusively showed that he’s gonna be a star/superstar one day (like Wemby is doing now, or say, KAT did his rookie year) but I don’t think he conclusively looked a guaranteed bust either like Johnny Davis, Wiseman, or Anthony Bennett. We’ll see how he does next season in terms of predicting his future.
In terms of this seasons performance only, I gave him a C-.

started off slow but finished strong to end the season. Hoping he performs better next season after a off season to work on his game and more consistent lineups next season, but i’m very optimistic because he looked amazing finishing off the season.

I think he should work on that midrange like what CP3 has/had. If he can live there, sky is the limit.
It’s a slow process. But we’ll have to really reassess in year 3

Want to see him in a full healthy lineup but I’ve always been optimistic. It takes time and he has shown a lot of good things, albeit with a fair share of bad things too. Regardless, year 2-3 we should start to see how Scoot is going to fit into the NBA long term.

Good growth over the year. 20 years old and averaging 14-5-3 with a few 30+ point games in this league is very respectable.
Needs to improve finishing, using his left, and decision making.
Im higher on Scoot than most, probably. I’d give him a C+.

Feels good, man.
After the last month, I’m optimistic.
Pretty disappointing season overall imo
