[AutomaticNBA] Hundreds of times has a player shot 72% at the rim. Hundreds of times has a player shot 40% from three. 2023-24 LeBron James is the first player in NBA history to do both in the same season. (min 300 attempts of each) • 73.0% at the rim (537 fga) • 41.3% from three (361 3pa)

He is so absurdly adaptable. He has played through so many steps of the evolution of how basketball is played in the NBA. Also sometimes I think about rookie lebron with his athleticism coming into a league today with so much spacing, would’ve been even more ridiculous

Looked vintage this afternoon. Still wild to think that 7 years ago I was worried that he only had a couple good years left.

Every following year, you think “oh yeah, he’s got at least a couple seasons left”, and then he just keeps going. He compensates increasing age with increasing BBIQ at a perfect pace, as well as somehow improving his 3pt% by like 10% from last year

At 39 years old LeBron is still trailblazing and playing futuristic basketball.

I can’t imagine believing in his OG Cleveland days that he’d ever shoot 40% from 3 at a very high volume. It’s truly unfathomable. Without fathom.

  5. It’s a cute stat cut-off but I’m pretty sure guys like Curry and Durant have probably finished just barely short of this.

Edit: Uh… so I just checked this and Curry last season shot 72.9% in the restricted area and 42.7% from 3, just not at the volume.

I also checked Durant and he has also done this multiple times, just not at the volume. He was very close in 2012-13 and probably would’ve passed these markers if not for his FTA.

I DON’T CARE WHERE YOU RATE HIM, HE’S STILL UNDERRATED

    goat and it ain’t close

  7. I can understand, at this age and point in his career, that he breaks a bunch of all-time records. But the fact that he is still setting SEASONAL firsts and PERSONAL highs at age 39 with injuries, a not-top-tier team and a mediocre coach is SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE! The man is a MONSTER!
