Play-in is a reasonable goal. West is stacked
We want that too but realistically even Playin will be amazing assuming we don’t get Tre/star and just draft.
The 10th seed went 46-36, that’s +24wins on us.
Houston missed out with a .500 record.
Fucking crazy how stacked the West is.
But If we did jump up +24wins that should be DPOY + MVP for Wemby.
And yes I know post ASB we’ve been so much better but sustainability, and health, for 82games is yet to be seen

Love his mentality but I think making the play in tournament would be a more a realistic goal but I think we will to try to tank one more year . But playoff wemby would be amazing
Well the edict has been delivered and we shouldn’t have expected anything less.
If you take away the first few months of The season here everyone was figuring shit out even pop. The spurs Are damn near playoff team already. Just silly mistakes here and there. They do need another player that can take the load off Wemby Sheppard would be awesome.
Getting better defensively has to be among there too priorities.
It would be worrying if he didn’t want that.
I think it is attainable if we can add veterans to the team, wemby is too good to be a bottom in the standings. But like i said before, i want the young guys to develop organically and not rush things.
Spurs need to be active on the free agency.
Play-off exit 1st round next year would be a great experience.
3rd/4th seed the year after would be awesome.
Contending in 2027 would be perfect.
Then it’s up to the basketball gods.
I made a post on nbadiscussion about it. I am going to take some heat, I know.
I am all for competing fast, but I don’t think trading for a PG is the good deal. Trading for a 3rd year rookie with this year & next year’s picks (picks are provisioned in the cap space) + signing free agents is the way, imo.
Use 2024-2025 to focus on a defensive identity around Wemby. 2025-2026 to work out the offense with the final pieces.
Going all in on a 1-2 punch isn’t the way, imo.
Wemby is so well-rounded. Best way to use him is probably making it easy around him on offense, slow the pace, and have him there almost all game long. Move him to the 4 and send some meat against the bulldozers like Jokic or Embiid.
Bring back the boring Duncan game. It wins championships. And with Wemby there’ll always be a handful of highlights anyway, no worry 😉
