You have to play Denver at some point to make the finals. Anything less than the finals appearance is a failure. Just win the playing game face Denver in the first round if you have to just make the playoffs.

1 LeBron is somebody that they want to be the goat so bad, but they put a scenario where he should intentionally lose because they afraid of Denver? Hilarious. And 2 it funny to hear Colin gloss over LeBron and he does so much and never have anything negative to say, but when it comes to KD he can break all his flaws and short comings down with no problem. All the while the lakers are in the play in game.
With Lebron choosing to guard Zion and locking him up. Further getting FIVE steals. Doing the same thing to Kawhi some weeks back and locking him up. Can we finally get rid of the 2019 Skip narrative that Lebron doesn’t play defense that’s living in a lot of peoples heads including Laker fans. He might not be the All-World defender he used to be ALL the time. But Lebron is still a pretty great defender when he has to be. I mean look at Kawhi, he started scoring, basically stopped defense.
Oh also.. later on.. getting rid of Whitlocks Balco rant off a KD joke/compliment should be next. No proof or evidence whatsoever. What’s next? He’s an alien? 😂

It’s not a guarantee that the Lakers will win the 8-9 matchup they could lose that game and miss the playoffs entirely then look really stupid.
The notion of losing to avoid Denver and putting yourself in a one game free-for-all for the 8th seed is one of the more ridiculous things I ever heard. You gotta go through them anyways and it's actually probably better round 1 because LeBron and AD are older now and there's more rest between games because of all the games that need to be played, so you can rest. Playing Denver in the WCF you would only get one day of rest between games. You'll get twoo days in some spots in the first round
