Mavericks vs Clippers Round 3

For the third time in the past five seasons the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers are matching up in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Clippers won the previous two matchups taking the Mavericks out in 6 during the 2020 playoffs and in 7 during the 2021 playoffs. This is a much different Mavericks team though with the addition of Kyrie Irving. Today we preview the Mavericks and Clippers first round series

    Kyrie basically had a 50/40/90 seasoning. He won’t get it officially with 49.6% FG% but his efficiency is key for Dallas.

    I'm sorry, but what basketball are you watching? Since leaving LeBron, Kyrie has had two good playoff series: against the Pacers without Oladipo in 2019, and with the big 3 nets against the worst Celtics of the Tatum era in 2021. And both were in the first round.

    He's had numerous series since then that he's either been injured (Bucks in 2021), or straight up shit the bed like against the Bucks in 2019 and the Celtics in 2022.

    Kyrie has a LOT to prove this playoffs.

    The mavs have played 2 playoff teams in that 18 games stretch, of course they look dominant against tanking and play in teams

    I want the Mavs to win the championship but unfortunately they don't have the manpower to do so. They are strong because of Luka. I highly doubt Kyrie will stay healthy to continue in the playoffs. There's no one else to backup Luka. It is essentially Luka alone again when Kyrie stops playing.
