It is not going to happen. Spurs will never be willing to pay anything close to a market value for Trae.
So does wembys ability to distribute out of penetration/double teams (pause) late in season change the āfitā for Trae w spurs? Also, obviously Trae can score the ball but his defensive incapabilities offset some of that. I think the spurs are best when wemby has the ball and creates mismatches/advantages so a pg like Trae would naturally pull us away from that. Just think wemby is much more than just ālob threatā. Would much rather see us pick up a dynamic, scoring small Forward. Can Demar return?

Im neutral on the trade. Its a high risk, high reward move. Doesn't seem Spursian.
This is nothing new. The issue is how much Atlanta will want for Trae and my assumption is that they will want too much for him.
Thank God that real professionals will be deciding if Trae Young qualifies to be a Spur, and not clueless fans like ourselves.

We shouldn't get Trae. Plays no defense and will eventually be a problem in the locker room. I'd rather keep Atlantas future picks and bank on them trading young to the Lakers and make a big move next off season

Keep playing with fire. Victor is different. This team is currently constructed and is not going anywhere again next year with these same guys. They damn near regressed this year. If they don't show the ability to progress this team next year… Victor won't be extremely upset, but it'll set a tone of they don't make the playoffs. He's not going to stand for the team to be stagnant as he continues to grow, and they keep losing.
Don't spoil the apple this early on its growth… cause once it spoils, they're done! If Kawhi didn't teach them anything… they're in for it. Kawhi wanted PG13 on the squad… and that was probably an issue with him.
