Brunson the last man standing, huge props to him for carrying us to 50 wins amidst multiple trades and too many injuries to count

So much better. The first is one of the weakest Playoff Teams. Second is a real, strong Team.

Man, if Julius is healthy we can take on anyone to get to the finals. If we can stay healthy next year…it’ll be an amazing season.

Uhh, I thought it was 5v5 basketball?
Bwahehe
Don’t think the Knicks FO gets enough credit. Greyson Allen just got 70 mil which is more than 20 mil higher than Divo.
Miss Quick and RJ, but OG is obviously a better fit than RJ and Deuce would have never seen the floor with Quick.
The only worry I have with this team is being able to resign Hart. He’s so damn important functioning as a hub for Brunson to weave around.

Think of the meltdown this sub would’ve had if we could see this post from the future at the beginning of the season. “WE TRADED AWAY ALL OF OUR YOUTH same old Knicks”

This makes me a little sad NGL.

I didn’t realize we started 6 players opening night lol
It’s pretty crazy how far the team came though with all the changes and injuries.

Would be sick if that was the 2nd unit

At the end of the day, I loved IQ, but we really lost nothing by having the emergence of Deuce.

Personally one of the most enjoyable parts of this season are those plays when Brunson starts driving into the paint, dishes off to someone at the elbow like Hartenstein, who then dishes off immediately to another open guy who gets an easy dunk or dishes off again to someone for an open 3. Just amazing how these guys have already learned so much how to play with each other that those plays were flawless.

On net seems like a better rotation mostly across the board.
Hart/Mitch minute inversion is definitely a plus, but worth noting that Mitch (both before and after injury) has regressed quite a bit this season (finishing numbers are down bad from the days he was an unstoppable lob target).
Randle -> Anunoby is probably a slight upgrade since shot creation loss + rebounding vs spacing + defense favors the latter during the Brunson minutes.
On balance we should get better overall quality minutes from the wings. Probably getting 10-12 more good wing minutes going from 27mpg for Grimes to ~38mpg for DiVincenzo (and DV >>> Grimes) and the RJ minute allocation getting redistributed to Hart/Bogdanovic is a probably a wash.
IQ -> McBride is the only clearcut downgrade on paper. Even with his poor performance last year, we still played really well during his minutes (and frankly if he was able to play those last 3 games, that likely could have been the difference between winning and losing that Miami series – although to be fair the Heat missed Herro the entire playoffs). McBride doesn’t bring the shot creation IQ brought and we don’t know how McBride will perform in the playoffs either, but he plays a more limited role so even if there’s some dropoff in efficiency, there’s fewer things that can go south.
Only thing to be mindful of is the Heat and the Sixers are also better this year. Nurse >>> Rivers and the Heat roster is a real contender imo and basically strictly better than last year’s roster + Herro is healthy. I want the Heat just because that matchup has all the history, and no point dodging matchups if you want to win a title, but I do think the Heat are favored. Rozier > Vincent/Lowry, Jovic > Strus, + JJJ, + Herro. And Jimmy + Highsmith have both improved as shooters considerably this year. Win or lose though, gimme that smoke.

Don’t forget Randle was a big no show last two playoff years , so things are looking up!

this is what happens when you hire Gersson Rosas

Deuce is everything we wanted Grimes to become. I still don’t think they’ve really made up for Quickly. Those non-Brunson minutes are an adventure sometimes.

Love both lineups, but you gotta be very happy with the changes made. I think you can be pretty certain this new lineup has higher ceiling

Thibs ability to sneak in an extra man on the court is unmatched.
