  1. Coach your content doesnt need a cringey clickbait title to lure in people. Great analysis of Shai but you forgot to explain why he is more valuable than jokic.

  2. Every time a righty goes to his left in a bballbreakdown clip, I know what we are about to hear hahaha…. Another great vid coach thanks

  3. C'mon man. Jokic as center HAS much more assists than Shai as point guard. It is not even close. Luka has much better case. Luka has insane season. OKC has much deeper bench than Denver and they were healthy all year until Jokic missed Murray in 30% of games. OKC is first because Murray, Gordon etc missed 40 games

  4. Why not just rename the award to MVAP – Most valuable American player, that way you don't need to tie yourselves into knots to explain why Eastern European Slavs (Jokic, Luka) shouldn't win the award when everyone sees that those 2 are the most deserving of it, Jokic more so than Luka though

  5. Jokic with the Nuggets has the same record as SGA with Thunder and Jokic has way better stats. There is no argument to give the MVP award to SGA over Jokic, maybe I can see an argument for Luka (though I still think Jokic is more deserving of it).

  6. No, Luka deserves it. Shai not even in the same stratosphere as Luka man fuqattahere. After Luka It's Brunson. After Brunson it's Jokic, then SGA.

  7. SGA, Same numbers as last year, Chet and JDubb’s growth are responsible for this turnaround. Can’t be “most valuable” when your value hasn’t gone up or down at all.

  8. If the basis of MVP is by score of:

    10% basic stats
    10% media vote
    35% W-L record & position in conference
45% stats that affect his value on the team

Would it be a good scoring system to determine MVP using numbers?

  9. His stats are almost exactly the same as last year… conflating a team's surprising success with his value is so disingenuous. The team around him got a lot better and that, along with the innovative coaching, should get the lions share of credit for the thunder's performance

  10. Luka did something more impressive with the Mavs. Either Jokic or Doncic, anything else would be a joke like last year's pity MVP for Embiid who got the nod because he's black and looks fun to stupid kids on TikTok who apparently is who the NBA markets towards with idiots like Perkins, Stephen A. and those dudes being the most prominent dumbasses you get to hear.

  11. My impression of the Thunder all season was they are playing so well as a unit. I love watching their teamwork. I never got the impression that SGA was doing it all, and that their wins relied solely on a single player and not the front office, the coach, and the team all working together to get results. The Thunder have really impressed me this year. They earned my viewership by playing well. SGA is definitely an MVP candidate, one or two imo, I just don't describe OKC's success as relying solely on just one player, that's what makes the team all that much more impressive.

  12. No. Luka is the MVP.
SGA has the following: coach of the year, rookie of the year candidate, and the most improved player candidate.

  13. I see why you still haven’t reached 1mil subs yet and why I been unsub’d. Bet the playoff coverage will be interesting for whoever watches as well lol.

  14. If anyone wants an interesting read, please hear me out below:

The NBA seriously need to look at the bias from the MVP voting committee. I am seeing a disproportionate amount of votes for Jokic. There is another agenda going on that's not to do with basketball. Which is not only unfair to Luka but Jokic , SGA, and all the other candidates.

Im seeing voters like Bill Simmons getting votes, the same person who partners will gambling sites like Fam Duel on their podcast.

ESPN members get a significantly larger proportion of voting power, which is interesting when you look at ESPN recent venture into the gambling industry. The objectivity of these voters should be called into question.

The odds being so in favour of Jokic is also telling. -5000 Jokic and 20/1 Luka. Vegas knows something we don't. As most basketball fan and mock polls suggest it should be a lot closer race.

Oddschecker suggests a relatively even amount of money has been placed on the both of them. So how come Jokic is such a favourite…

In December straw poll when Embid was front running favourite he was averaging less in pts, rb and ast than Luka is now – at 50 win pace, which Luka managed to achieve. So how come Luka was never the front runner.

All of this information anyone can find on X, you can even find the voters names, which is also wrong. For all we know they are being bribed , colluding together to try and get the winner they or someone else wants. The house always wins as they say.

It's clear who the fans MVP is it's Luka, my votes Luka by a mile, not just because of his performance but because I cannot stand corruption/ bias in sports. I would not be surprised if this is happening in the NBA, just look at FIFA – this Jokic, Luka situation reminds me of the Messi/ Harland balonD'or in 2023. Messi is the goat but it's almost felt as if Haaland could not have done more that year. Again both deserved to win and the odds, albeit in Messi favour were a lot closer.

I feel sorry for Jokic as he does not deserve to be dragged down by all the controversy, he is an all time great but may look less legitimate due to the poor way in which the award is given.

I am an NBA fan and do not have the time, platform or resources to deep dive into this the way I believe should be . But the NBA has to do better, MVP needs to be legitimately defined, it affects the history books and peoples trust in the organisation.

  15. It’s Jokic this year, last year was rightfully embiid. SGA has too much help from Chet and Jdub, Jokic is creating the western conference parity

  16. Still Joker. The Thunder are great but SGA’s value to that much more balanced team is nothing compared to Joker’s to the Nuggets this year.

  17. The answer is no.

TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE JOKIC IS THE MVP this year.
    – he played more games than other MVP candidates, had the tied best record in the West with his best teammate miss 25 games.
    – Jokic was fifth in total points, third in total rebounds, second in total assists, and eighth in total steals. He's the only player in NBA history to be top-10 in all four categories in a single season.
    – Jokic led the entire league in on/off offensive efficiency with plus-18.9 points per 100 possessions.
    – He was first in total plus-minus at plus-682.
Jokic was first in VORP (Value Over Replacement Player), PER (Player Efficiency Rating), Win Shares, Offensive Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus, Offensive Box Plus/Minus, and Defensive Box Plus/Minus.
    – Every single Nuggets starter had a higher effective field goal percentage with Jokic on the floor compared to him off
    – Jokic was the only player in the league that averaged at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. He's the sixth player to ever put up these numbers.
    – Jokic was second in total at-rim assists and total two-point assists.
    – He was first in total steals by a center.
    – Jokic was fifth in total deflections in the NBA.
    – He was second in the NBA in non-restricted painted area field goal percentage at 61.7 percent (minimum
    100 attempts).
    – He finished second in total points in the painted area.
    – Jokic was first in post-up points and assists.
    – He also led the league in total points and total assists from the elbows.
Jokic recorded the second-most double-doubles in the league with 68 and the second-most triple-doubles with 25.
    – Nikola had 21 games of 25-point triple-doubles, which led the league.

  18. Of course he didn't mention this fact,
Last 16 games, that's about last 20% of the season:

    Jokic:

    31 7 5

    16 11 7

    35 16 2

    30 14 11

    didn't play

    29 11 8

    22 9 10

    32 10 5

    26 18 16

    42 16 6

    36 17 10

    19 11 14

    28 13 7

    41 11 7
    22 7 12

    15 15 5

    Shay:

    20 7 3

    31 7 4

    23 7 8

    12 3 2

    24 5 8

    didn't play

    didn't play

    19 2 3

    didn't play

    didn't play

    didn't play

    didn't play

    40 7 4

    26 6 5
    23 7 3
    15 1 6

If you want to see who is more valuable and who does more for their team just look at these number to close the regular season. Shay has ZERO double-doubles, ZERO triple-double, only one 30+ point game and one 40 point game plus missed a whole bunch of games while Jokic was killing opponents with 10 double-doubles plus 4 triple doubles, five 30+ point games, two 40+ games and missed just one game to close the season!!! Shay's numbers look pathetic to call him MVP next to Jokic numbers and how Jokic drags the Nuggets by doing absolutely everything for that team, that's true MVP! If you go deeper into advanced stats that are hidden Jokic kills Shay and everyone else there too!
