@Dallas Mavericks

[Amick] Key Warriors stakeholders have been optimistic Thompson will re-sign— There are market forces outside of their control, too, with teams such as Orlando playing the wild-card role. The Dallas Mavericks are worth watching as a possible suitor as well, league sources tell The Athletic.

  1. Yeah, I’m going to have to pass on an inconsistent three point specialist, we already have one of those and we barely tolerate him

    Oh God no.

34 years old, injury prone, skills extremely diminished, and looking for a big payday.

    Hard pass.

Do we even have the money? I thought we’re over the salary cap

  4. Season isnt even over and Mavs being used as leverage again! Lmaoooo. He is always welcomed as vet min guy.

  5. We are always linked to FA and this time I hope we don’t get the guy.

  6. Salvalicious252

It’s not even possible, just ignore this.

    1. We are over the cap

    2. Do not have access to the full MLE

    3. Everybody but DJJ is signed for next year and I’d have to assume they’d like to re-sign him.

    4. Klay is a full FA, so no trade possibility with salary matching. Which we don’t even have regardless.

Tim is the only expiring salary and I’m 99% sure he is gone, they’ll likely use his salary to match for a trade. Personally I’m hoping for Tim + asset (2nd?) for Bogdanovic with the Hawks.

Mavs are yet again being used to fill speculations. He’s not interested in a taxpayer MLE – and however frustrated GSW are with him, they’re still offering him more than that.

Now, Orlando. That’s more plausible. They have money to spend or at least way to open that up. Great defence but no shooting — the occasional 0/10 can be tolerated from a good shooter.

This is a joke. We are not a suitor for Klay unless they wanna S&T for Hardaway.

  9. I don’t see it happening unless it’s a really really cheap deal (which is not happening). Giving up assets and/or spending big on washed vets is not Nico’s MO.

  10. GormlessK

The Mavericks are linked to virtually every FA and trade target, don’t worry about it.

    nonononono

    please

no one from warriors who is over 25

    no

  12. Prime Klay would have been a terrific fit next to Luka, but I don’t think it makes sense now unless he signs for a bargain

  13. Swoosh_rotaerc

If it’s for the Vet Min then definitely.

Anything more than that, I’m skeptical that the team will be able to bring him in and also be able to improve their wing depth.

Worth pointing out, and I say this a lot. Mavericks are ALWAYS linked to whomever is on the move for whatever reason. It’s very rarely ever worth talking about or stressing it.

  15. We already have someone who goes 0/10 from 3 every other night. Why do we want another one?

  16. AdmiralSnackbar816

We wouldn’t ask much of him. Just fill the Tim and Hardy minutes. And we’re already used to those shots clanging.

  17. ossymandiAss

That’s gonna be a no from me dawg. He’s so incredibly washed it’s kind of sad.

  18. PM_ME_UR_RESPECT

I mean, I’d be alright with a straight up THJ trade as long as we didn’t overpay. But that’s literally it.
