A lot of the people in these comments seem to have completely missed the point of what he did. The “inside info” was about when he took himself out of a game(faked injury) so that he wouldn’t play his usual minutes to hit an over on his box score, and told a bettor he was going to do so beforehand. That is manipulating both the game and the betting on it. Doesn’t have anything to do with how good he is or if they lost the game. And that was just one instance. Dude might get jail time for this, not just a ban.
I don’t understand. I get that he’s getting banned for gambling and that should be seen as a bad thing. But isn’t the NBA sponsored by betting sites? Pretty ironic and hypocritical

Dude tried to be Pete Rose. However I get why sports betting is popular so it can fund how sports arenas and stadiums are paid for. Yet allowing the advertisements of betting in sports is kinda bad.
MJ was gambling through the whole 90s on NBA, they didn’t ban him for life. They pick and choose who they want to reprimand.
