Good scrappy win. Good battle test to see what we're made of. We have a lot of improvements and adjustments to do but mostly we need more heart, that dog character and mentality to go out and want it. And when we struggle we have to able to adjust and executive with other ways to win. Coach Nurse is great but the squad has to perform too.
Idk what Embiid's current of state of health is but if he's gonna play he needs to step up. He definitely still looks out of shape.
Now that we're in against the Knicks we'll if and when Maxey does or doesn't. Love his game and hus potential but he needs to start showing it in the playoffs too. Playoffs is when the real season starts.

Joel Embiid is essentially playing on one leg and is maybe at about 70% conditioning wise. His hands were on his knees the WHOLE game and the Heat led by 11 at halftime which felt like they were leading by 20 due to how well both defenses played.

Batum saved us for sure but don’t diss Embiid and Maxey. They did well in a lower scoring, defensive game.

This game proved that the supporting cast around Embiid is the best he's had. Embiid showed improvement in certain aspects of the game that were missing in years past. The team misses Melton because that zone killed us, and him and Maxey are the 2 players on the team that can break down a zone , get past someone, and get into the paint.
RB don’t under estimate the importance of making 8 free throws in a row in the clutch minutes. Our free throw execution in pressure moments in going to hold in good stead in these playoffs.

The Sixers did themselves no favors beating Miami. Beating Chicago for a shot at Boston would've been an easier path. The Knicks are gonna dogwalk the 6ers. Boston was an easier matchup.

So the 76ers limp into playoffs another year. Hopefully Jo El won't be sick, tired, hurt… if so they should beat Knicks. We have till this weekend to remain hopeful.

I wish Darrell would have traded ben Simon's for a bunch of bench players instead of for harden but he traded harden and got some really good pieces. He showed he can be a good gm without star hunting. BUDDY has slowed down a lot but if we can get 12-15 pts from him with an occasional 20 on a couple break out games we can be dangerous. Even if he only gets 10 with a couple big 3s, as long as he's shooting efficient. Nick nurse was the difference in this game with sitting our max contract player. He's not looking at the contracts or veterans like doc did. Not sure we can beat Boston but you NEVER know what can happen

Hmmm glad we won but that was ugly and raised a lot of questions. I wanted to see what Jo looked like in the playoffs with a real coach and a non choking point guard (Ben & Harden). Jo Jo almost choked this one away until the 4th quarter and without Batum going off it might’ve not mattered. We can see he’s obviously hurt. He should play 25 minutes at most.
Maxey needs to step all the way tf up. Last night he was shook. Nurse needs to run the offense thru Maxey, let Joel be a decoy and a point center at most until he gets right. And start Batum instead of Tobi at the 4.
We can beat the Knicks with 60% Embiid but his minutes & usage gotta come down and we gotta run with Maxey, BBall Paul, Buddy, Oubre, Batum etc. Joel not ready to carry us… and he has yet to show us he’s that bul in the playoffs… ever. I know he’s hurt but his body language sucked. Hopefully we got the playoff jitters out the way. Let’s go Sixers.
Time for Emblid to step up his game. If they get knocked out early philly fans will not have James Harden to blame it on. He had time to rest this season recovering form injury. Question is when comes to Emblid is going to be known as players that is regular season mvp who can't get it done in playoff.

Huge win for philly, not just for the playoff implications obviously but the fact it was against Miami, butler has there number, spo with his zone defense, etc. Mental hurdle, nurse has the adjustments, if it was rivers, he keeps harris in and doesn't make that change, nurse and spo have chess matches like none other
