  1. Rudy used to look like the next T-Mac when he got hot. Dunks, 3's, mid-range, whatever he wanted to do

  2. As Grizz fan Rudy was a very good player. But bruh didn’t have no heart or toughness to him. Wish he did Grizz could’ve won a few rings.

  3. I never heard any of these stories but im not surprised. I always told my boys there’s something off about his hunger.

To be a 6’8 high flying shooter with a handle but not be a perennial all star is crazy.

  4. No problem with a player like Tony Allen trying to get players to play through injuries. You need guys like him for the Rudy type guys who’ll sit over an upset stomach. Those guys need to know their teammates though because doing that with a tough player who’ll play through anything might lead to them being out for long period due to hurting themselves more. But this doesn’t surprise me about Rudy one bit. Always had the talent but just looked like he was in cruise control

  5. Crazy how they got that nice once rudy started fading away… he was always good, smooth, super athletic.. but you could always tell sumthin was missing

  6. Same with Toronto. Once Rudy left it was on and popping from there. I remember that read 10 years ago.

  7. His first nba game against the knicks in 06-07 I remember he scored like 30.I thought dude was gonnabe a problem and he was at times but more times not

  8. I don’t even want to finish this video. This is some straight bs. I hate when any person has soooooooo much talent and just refuses to pursue it. That ish ticks me off soooo much smh. Now I see why Rudy was what he was

  9. That phase from Tony Allen changed the Memphis Grizzlies organization. Tony Allen is loved and respected in Memphis forever for giving the team their identity.

  10. This interview is a gem! That Memphis team could scrap with a lot of teams, Rudy just never took that leap that we thought he could.

  11. Mike Conley
    Tony Allen
    Rudy Gay
    Z Bo
    Marc Gasol

They had a squad. I remember when Rudy went down & the Grizzlies went crazy after that. They were the 8 seed & beat the 1 seed Spurs.

  12. I just think he played during the wrong era. If he came into the league now he would have thrived as a power forward. He preferred to play as a 4 instead of a 3 but he's just not good enough as a wing and a shooter. Was also too small to excel at the 4 during the time he came into the league.

  13. I used to watch Rudy Gay on the Sacramento Kings and wonder why he wasn’t more than what he already was and he was already a walking highlight every game. Then I watch his Toronto/Memphis highlights and I just wanted to see him on a winning team so bad since then. He was in what he called “his worst shooting slump of his career” then he tore his acl. It wasn’t even that noticeable, I thought the team just wasn’t clicking yet.

  14. He had some of the best highlights I’ve ever seen in basketball. Game winners on legit all star defenders faces, silky smooth moves and oh yeah the beautifully nasty posters. Then he had the mean mug to make it look tough 😂

  15. I remember going to see Rudy Gay play in college. It didn't take long to see just how immensely talented he was. He could score on every level. He had great size for a SF. Very good athleticism. He honestly had all of the tools.

  16. Maryland has so many talented hoopers but for the most part it seems once most make it to the league they’re never as great as they could be…KD included even tho he’ll probably go down as the best Maryland/DMV hooper

  17. Nah that 2010-2011 grizzlies team especially in the playoffs is one I’ll never forget. They also took off when they had OJ Mayo come off the bench. Then knocking out the spurs the first round was wild!

  18. if only rudy played to his potential, grizzlies doesn’t have to trade him to get prince and obviously got better as a team!

  19. I used to think he was one of the best players in the league until I noticed every team he played for got better once he left

  20. They needed those extra points from Rudy in that playoff series. They couldve made the championship game
