  1. Sarr. Matas Buzelis. Dink Pate. Zachary Riserche.

Honorable mention: Cody Williams. Ja'Coby Walker. Zach Edey (late 1st round or early 2nd round).

With Mark Williams back injury, it's time to seriously consider another Center lower down the draft. There's at least 4-5 very decent ones in this year's class and top of it for consideration should be Edey. Yes I rank him ahead of Clingan who's a one dimensional (albeit a very good one) player. Edey is showing signs of a blossoming 3 point stroke something Clingan has nothing of.

  2. Tough draft for us to be in a must hit situation. No one seems to know anything for sure past Sarr being nailed on top 3, and even that’s not a guarantee. There seems to be a lot more depth at wing than there is at center, which for me are the Hornets two big needs. Part of me wants Williams, but the few games I caught of him playing in college didn’t really win me over. He just seemed too timid. Buzelis and Holland seem raw, and the ignite had a terrible season. Sheppard seems like such a great player, but I’m not sold on a combo of him, Lamelo, and Miller, especially on defense. Risacher hasn’t been able to hit a shot in the last month, although he’s young enough and has a great frame, so I think he could certainly figure it out. Don’t see us picking Topic, his game is pretty similar to Lamelo’s and he also has been out with an injury for an extended amount of time. Clingon could be a decent complement to Williams, but if mark gets hurt again I don’t think he has what takes to play the 5 consistently in the NBA against guys like Embiid, Wemby, Jokic, etc.

Last year I was in Camp Scoot, and we saw how that worked out. Imma just try and not react too rashly no matter who we get. I just hope we get the coaching situation sorted in time for whoever comes in to have a clear game plan in the draft and free agency.

Edit: the reason Williams’s three point shooting doesn’t get brought up very often is he had a pretty low volume in college, so it remains to be seen if he can hang around that 41% number against better defenders at higher volume.

  3. No thanks. If the Hornets aren't lucky enough to be able to get Alex Sarr, this will be a wasted draft pick. Every other player they could draft is REDUNDANT to some player they already have. ONLY ALEX SARR would provide something different. Sarr has the best potential comp in the Lottery, which is Kevin Garnett. Odds are he won't be that good, but that comp is what the Hornets should be aiming for, not some REDUNDANT prospect.

  4. Assuming the Hornets stay at 4, Cody Williams, Matis Butselis, Jakoby Walker, Ron Holland. PJ Hall at 43.

  5. This is the craziest draft I've ever seen. I really haven't had a chance to watch a lot of players so far, I'm definitely going to try to watch a Colorado game though . This feels like the 2013 draft where their is not a clear cut number one pick, and possibly a star will happen around the 10-20 range of the draft, and maybe even later in the draft too.
