Anthony Davis on not being a finalist for DPOY: “I’ll never get it. The league doesn’t like me. I’m the best defensive player in the league. I can switch 1 through 5. I can guard the pick-and-roll the best in the league, from a big standpoint. I block shots. I rebound.” (via @LADEig)

Anthony Davis seems a bit salty about not being a finalist for DPOY. But hey, at least he’s confident in his skills.

Take that energy, take that frustration from getting your ass kicked by Denver 9 times in the last year, and put it into showing the world your greatness. Harness that shit so we have a fighting chance against the Nuggets

Take that energy and take Denver’s head off

Nobody doubts AD’s defense. DPOY is a fugazi award anyways.

  5. Tim Duncan never won one either and he’s regarded as one of the best defenders in the game and his teams have always been good defensively.

The biggest narrative of him is that he is injury prone. Doesn’t seem like the media is paying attention to how good he has been this year. Which is not strange generally. A lot of NBA players have insane seasons that slide under the radar. But it is generally a little weird for a star on a big name team.

My message to AD if he is reading this thread. Take it out and average 40 on the Nuggets for the rest of the series big man! They all hate you! Channel that aggression onto the court and dominate.

Only reliable awards are apperently scoring award and first team selection, at least the media and narratives dont affect those.

I’m glad he said it finally he knows he’s been screwed over and over

These awards are all a joke. Embiid literally cried for his MVP award lol it’s pathetic.

Glad we’re not crazy, even r/NBA thinks how he gets subbed is bullshit

  11. CabbageStockExchange

He’s gotta be one of the most disrespected players in the league tbh.

Please AD use this as motivation against Denver

Better playing for the first seed not the play in to pretend to the DPOY

The fact that winning these end of season awards can affect how much money you can make on your next contract and you got bums in the media voting who literally have hate agendas on the Lakers is absurd

Lebron James, for several possessions in the first game, literally just stood and watched the opposing player take a rebound from right in front of him and either score or start a break while Lebron has his hands gripping his jersey near his hips just looking…

Anthony Davis can’t be the entire defense, and the Lakers can’t be champs if that is the defensive effort we get with “King” “Block By” James…

We can win but Lebron James needs to focus more on defense and less on offense, and he needs to drive and score instead of shooting like his name ends with Curry. If Lebron can’t be Lebron how can we win.

You can score 30 but if you give up 40 you’re not helping

Imagine it like playing team death match in a video game, you can drop 30 kills but if you died 40 times you only helped the enemy team win faster…

It’s because you’re not defending as much.

Lakers were so ass in the regular season that half the time they were giving up extra wide open 3’s so no one even bothered to drive the paint.

    It isn’t ADs fault
