Britt Robson: “After Game 1, Finch talked about how the Wolves had rediscovered the “chip on our shoulders” and “desperation” they had utilized when proving to the rest of the NBA that they were a team (and especially a defense) to be taken seriously during the first two months of the season.”

Everyone in the media was picking the Suns to upset. Probably wasn’t difficult feeling like they had something to prove. Glad they answered the call!

I hope we keep that same energy. It will be hard after that big of an ass kicking and the national media clowning the Suns to not let that go to your head.

    Wolves in 5

  3. The regular season is a long grind and it’s hard to stay locked in for a full 82-game season. After Game 1, I definitely agree that it was clear the Wolves were back to playing with a sense of urgency and aggression that I don’t think we saw a ton during the second half of the season… I don’t think the team was “coasting” per say, but now it’s go time and I think it’s given the guys juice again and the realization that “damn we have just as good a chance to win a Title as anybody else”

The “good” side is the Wolves will likely not be favored in any future series either, even should they win this one. Keep that same energy!

Picking up Booker/Beal as soon as they enter the half court, even sometimes full-court was clearly disrupting the flow of their offense. That was a great adjustment by Finch, with the extra day rest hopefully we can bring that same intensity.
