Where do you think Malik Monk ends up in free agency?
Orlando Magic for sure the need shooters and have the foot to đ” bill, however i do think if Kings can offer 20mil a year he'd stay
He might go to the spurs
Edit: i commented this b4 getting to 3:55
He might just be teasing the FO. He might really like it here. Players who are well loved in this city tend to like being in this city. Webber/Bibby/Peja/Vlade/Tyreke/even DMC/Fox.
I saw DMC a few months ago at DOCOâŠlike wtf r u doing here when you can be anywhere else. This city showed him love, thereâs a good chance he will stay.
The difference between California taxes and Florida taxes is reason enough to leave.
You only get so many chances to get the bag in this game. It is going to be hard for Malik to turn down a bigger contract somewhere else.
So now Monte trades pick to shed another contract. Wouldn't be surprised.
What about all of this embiid to the kings chatter?
He going to want max money and he going to want to start. He clearly mention that in the exit interview.
My take from that interview is that he is leaving. Worst case scenario for us. Which sucks.
Mosquito eaters do not eat mosquitoes, I found that out recently. FRAUDS.
Yeah they won 46, but whatâs the record without monk? Not very goodâŠ
Whatever window kings has is closed. đ
If Orlando offers him a deal, worth more than sac, why would he take a minimum of a 12% pay cut just for taxes?
We need wing depth
Mo is talking about a tomahawk. HAAAWWWđź
If another team offers him a starting role ⊠âgoodbyeâ ⊠he just wishes he could start next to Fox ⊠but this org would have to upgrade Barnes ⊠I go where Monk goes
I love Malik and will not feel any negative way if he chooses to take the bigger offer elsewhere. My main concern isnât how weak it would leave our bench, but how we would replace the intangibles that he brings to this team. His âenergyâ and aura is so vital to this team full of a bunch of guys who stay in their shell so to speak.
I didn't think about Spurs :/
I cld see u2 signing a million dollar deal
Imma be so sad I waited most of my life for this team to be good. If we lose monk they take a huge step back
I been following the NBA & the Kings since 85… I can't remember a time when a player could only make more going somewhere else. Usually, the team has the ability to match any offer. How is a contract signed that puts the current team at a point that they are the ones that get screwed? Is this an NBA rule or just a bad contract negotiated by Monte?
He can get more money + starting job elsewhere. And it might very well be on a team with brighter future …
He gone
There is precedence for staying with the team you like..Austin Reeves stayed with the Lakers for less money. Hopefully, he stays.
I think fox and Sabonis should just throw him a 2-3M per year to cover the loss đ€Ł
Malik Monk is going, he deserve better than this trash sacramento kings.đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I think he is looking for both – to become a starter and get paid as a starter. Those two are not to be found, here in Sacramento. So, brace for the worst and pray that somehow, the fate is to stay here and actually that to be the right decision for both sides. I hate to ask him stay, when only Kings to benefit from this. He looks like a guy that needs something good to happen for him. Let's see what that would be.
I feel like in time we will lose both of you guys too. Probably lose you guys to a 3year/1M deal to espn lol.
