We basically have to win the next two games home. I still have hope, but damn watching suggest last few games theirs just so clinical. I never see worry on their team everything feels so calculated. It like their in gear 6 and wear maxing out on gear 10, when they want they just flip it up a notch always in q3/q4. You stop jokic any 3 jamal murray, eric gordan, and mpj could get hot easily. It seems Jamal murray always gets hot/clutch in q4 no matter what if team needs it.

How many of them were on a ten game losing streak against those teams?

  3. jason2012Ej

Oh, absolutely! We’re just getting warmed up.

  4. GMaxGigaNerd

We were hoping for the same against Suns a few years ago..

  5. youareyou650

How many against a team that has beat them ten straight? Or reigning champs? Or best player in the world?

  6. EB_V3_4life

I admire some of the Laker Nations enthusiasm but if I’m being blunt it’s just not going to happen with Darvin Ham as our head and Michael Malone as the Nugget’s coach

It’s an even more one-sided match up than Pops vs D’Antoni in the playoffs

If this was a closely contested series (despite being down 0-2) against a team we’ve gone head to head with all season, and we had an equal to or better roster (and coach!) then I’d still think this discussion is silly just because of what percentages are, but I wouldn’t fault anyone for having it.

We’re at the point where we could run the South Bay Lakers out there vs Denver and some of you would come up with some crazy theories of how we could “do this”. “MaYbE ThEy’LL PLaY DoWn To ThEm” etc…

Outside of Pau and an unhappy, injured Dwight going into the playoffs without Kobe, I’ve NEVER in 24 years felt less confident going into a series, and the obviously means how I felt before these two games were played.

I don’t know if this is desperate karma hunting, but based off of everything we’ve seen and already knew, these “Rah Rah” posts are close to being right up there with RDAmbition and the Staples “Protest.”

What do some of you need to see to finally let REALITY set in? I’ve never seen this from fans of a team in our position before.

I could give two sh*ts about what fans of other teams think of Laker fans (unlike a lot of you who roam on other team’s sub’s and the NBA subs like little Karen’s), but if anyone is looking at what’s going on here they’re probably having a pretty big laugh about the “copium” and delusion infesting this sub.

Some of you, and I don’t even care in this case if you’re young or not, should be flat out embarrassed for living in this alternate reality.

EDIT – You know what the saddest part is? After we get swept or get gentleman’s swept a lot of you STILL won’t learn from this experience, like I did when I was a (very) young fan.

Out of the last 15 times it was done, lebron was 3 of them. And if you exclude the KD warriors, he has won 3/7 times he was down 0-2

  9. I really believe we just need game 3 to break that mental barrier of that win streak, everything will open up after

  10. subzero12320931

Yea but they didnt have Hamas as their coach.

  11. Le_Tigre1611

3rd time is a charm this it guys… i know Lakers will not let the fans down… LBJ needs to get that 5th crown to match boss mamba that’s his motivation or else he will not get another ring… and the moment the team wins gm3 it will be crazy in socal and denver is feeling the pressure more than the lakers they don’t want the lakers to get the momentum because they knew it will be over for them… hopefully scott foster will not officiate the next 4 games or else it’s summer break for the team…

  12. EpicMusic13

Easily been 1-1, or even 2-0 for us if not for those blown fucking leads

  13. BlackJasonTodd

My optimism was already low heading into the series so after last night it’s even lower, now I’m just hoping we can win a game at this point.

  14. EpicMusic13

DALLAS JUST USED THEIR CHALLANGE 20sec left on the clock. Hamas, that’s how you use it. God damnit

  15. StoneColdAM

I think it maybe is possible to win Game 3, but expect Denver to win Game 4 and wrap it in 5.

  16. sunnyboys2

I’m willing to bet if you asked any of the other 28 teams to play denver 10 times, they would win at least 1. Let alone a team with LBJ. This is beyond a joke at this point. How is it even possible?

  17. jedisnoke

Thursday can’t come fast enough. I need to get the taste of the last game out of my system. So damn sickening! Let’s just focus on winning on Thursday! Please give us some happiness haha.

  18. xxDankerstein

Great, we can beat Boston for most 0-2 comebacks AND most championships.

  19. We have to beat to beat them 4 out of 5 games, we haven’t beaten them in 10 games

We’re most likely cooked, I think we can win game 3 but I also thought that last year and Jamal had 30 at the half. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have an insane shooting game to put us away

  20. ImprovementFancy1130

And bron’s been the main catalyst of 9% of those. We have a chance. However small it is, it is never zero.

No. This man wants his paycheck and early vacation

  22. Hopeful-Percentage76

How many of these combacks where against 50 win teams?

  23. IMBEASTING

Nah, we going to get cooked. I just don’t see them beating the defending champs.

  24. Well, no one’s done accomplished this feat in 2024 so here’s hoping it’s us. 🍸

  25. Don’t get your hopes high. In order to come back from 0-2 you actually need a somewhat decent coach. You know someone who’s not going to keep his hands in his pockets the entire and have a dumb founded look to his face as soon as the opponent makes ONE adjustment.

  26. Quiet_Buffalo

I think coming back 0-2 is possible if 1) you may have a worse team, but you have the best player 2) you have a better team/higher ceiling, but just had some bad games, sometimes caused by adjusting to the intensity of the playoffs, often for younger teams

As an example, I think Philly can still beat the Knicks since Philly technically is better at full strength and Embiid will continue to improve. Also, Randle is out. When we were up 3-1 to that Nash PHX team with Kobe and a pretty weak supporting cast, PHX definitely could come back and did because they were clearly the better team overall, even though Kobe was able to will us some games (we also had Phil frigin’ Jackson at the helm). LBJ’s finals comeback against a superior Warriors team came down to him being the best player on the court and the world at the time and a teammate that was super skilled and not afraid of the moment in Kyrie.

Unfortunately, Jokic has passed Lebron and is not only the best player on the court, but probably the world. I knew the dude had amazing IQ, great vision, and a good stroke, but in the last game, when the Nuggets needed points, Jokic was backing down a HOF defender in AD in the paint like Shaq and scoring at will and it wasn’t finesse. It was pure weight/strength and while not athletic, the dude is big and pretty nimble. We may steal a game or two, but the Nuggets are clearly the better team. As close as some games have been, 10 in a row is no fluke. They are like the old Shaq/Kobe Lakers – they turn that shit on when they need to. I really miss that feeling of dominance knowing that we can easily do that. Maybe if we had Prime Bron, but dude is already playing out of his mind at 39 with the mileage of someone even much older than that.

  27. PoetGooner

Bron’s got a few of those, specifically with Cleveland in ’07, ’16, and ’18

  28. independent_ghe25

You guys act like Denver and the entire NBA fan base doesn’t know how badly LA wants to win one. You don’t think they’re planning a response against maybe the biggest lakers urgency of all time? Newsflash. They already did the previous two games.

There’s nothing strategic the lakers can do that Denver isn’t countering.

  29. Richardduh

Not only do we have to beat Denver, we still need to beat Ham in the semis, conference finals, then finals. 2hard.

  30. We would have had a slight shot had we won the game we were up 20 points in the 3rd now the chances are beyond slim. You know LeBron doesn’t have a ton of games like that left in the tank where he has to carry teams like he is in his prime. AD isnt agressive everything game, our bench is awful and our coach clueless. There is very little reasons for hope. Lakers in 6.

  31. de_Mysterious

Winning 2 at home feels doable. They lost the first one because of dlo partly, the 2nd one because they stopped running plays like they always do (there was a stat on this sub that showed how bad the scoring was when they weren’t running plays). They lost by 2 in an away game to a game winner. If they get their heads of their asses and actually play organised ball all 4 quarters they will win.

  32. Miserable-Lawyer-233

I think it’s possible because most of the games have been really close. Of course some of the guys have to show up and be consistent, but if they do, then it’s definitely a possibility.

  33. I trust the main players, but the issue is coaching. They make an adjustment in the third or fourth and we simply don’t respond. Ham can come up with a gameplan but is awful at mid game changes
