I remember when Bruce Bowen first came to the Spurs and everybody said that Bruce Bowen should not be starting(just like everyone is saying the same thing about Julien Champagne).
I kinda miss Keldon's high energy especially from the start of the season. He was soooo goood! It declined during the losing streak and fans bashing him thru social media.
"Champagne"just needs confidence. He'll be fine. As for the rest, I wouldn't mind holding on to DG for at least a 2 yrs 10 mil. Just in case we don't draft a pg and we decide to run it back.
Bro I don’t know but I really like Champagne. I could never forget what that kid did in the G League he was special. He’s finally starting to get comfortable in the NBA. Aside from him I’m not crazy about all those guys.
I would trade Graham. Osman. Collins. Bassey. Mamu. Champagine. Bouyea & Gray for players that rebound & attack the rim also space the floor & improve the bench. Maybe bring 1 or 2 vets to help the team. Honestly I would keep KJ & work with him. He would be the spark coming off the bench because I mean look at Ginobili. He was great coming off the bench in his years with the spurs. I know KJ would do the same.
Collins , Keldon, will need to go elsewhere to get a fresh start and they are not consistent enough! Colllins rose up some during the end of the season but not enough!!!Keldon has been here and should be a lot better!!
I'm not cool with a possible draft Bronny, agent Rich Paul & Pop Bron would be a distraction for him in San Antonio!!! They'd let Pop coach him up, then BOOM…… he's gone!!! 💯
I would definitely keep Julian! His overall play improved towards the end of the season. I love Keldon, but the Spurs need 3 and D players to space the floor and contest shots on D. Keldon needs to go. I also agree that Bassey, Zach and Devonte need to go.
People often forget you need to look into their contracts and trade-value,it’s a business market after all,not like 2K when you can do whatever you want.
I will just classify these people into groups : Little trade-value with a cheap contract :Julian,Bassey Net negative (Overpaid contract):Devonte,Collins Got ok trade-value with a decent contract : Keldon Johnson
Basically,it doesn’t make sense to trade Bassey and Julian at this point, since they will not get back good value in return, and their contracts mean nothing. I’m ok with either waiving Bassey or keeping him to give him a shot when he’s healthy, and I’ll keep Julian at the mean time. Secondly,I know Devonte and Collins are on the chopping block,of course people will want them gone, the problem is they have no trading value now, with overpriced contracts and low efficiency. They’ll probably waive Devonte,Collins on the other hand, unless he can be put in some kind of package (But it means other players will be gone too),otherwise he’s a hard case.
Keldon Johnson is the more valuable trading piece in this group, team friendly contract,at least a decent rotational shooter. Not at his highest now,but there are definitely more teams would be interested in him than those 4. The ideal play will be waiving both Bassey/Devonte,trade Collins in a package, and trade Keldon with good values only. Julian will remain the only keeper. But in reality,I could see both Collins and Keldon staying.
I might be one of the only ones who likes Collins but he does what he needs to do which is give rest for Wemby and I'm fine with that. I don't understand what's wrong with Keldon though. He went from dropping what was it at least 25ppg to being almost irrelevant this season. Where is the homey dunking on people and slamming into the paint for a layup.
1) Keldon shouldn’t be traded if the reason is based solely on talent. Only if he doesn’t fit with the roster. I’m also now on the fence about this, and here’s why:
Champagnie is a great defender and belongs on an NBA roster. He should be on a second unit though. Keldon occupies that spot. If we draft a SF that fits the roster with Vic, as an immediate starter, Julian can slide to SF for the second unit and Keldon becomes collateral damage. Heart breaking, but necessary.
2) Maybe keep EITHER Bassey OR Collins, but keeping two injury-prone bigs is risky. Like both, but logic has to win out. Especially if we draft a big.
3) Graham is a great guy. Doesn’t make sense to keep him at 12 million. He belongs somewhere in the NBA. Trade him with Keldon, to a contender, if the KJ move has to be made. Short of that, you have to release him.
The way I'm thinking, depending on who the spurs are focused on in the draft, and their stance with Atlanta having all of their picks, they might not need to trade any of these guys. Personally of these five guys I agree that Collins should be traded if the spurs do have to trade anyone though. I really think KJ gets too much negative attention, he's great in the locker room and I think with some work he could be a great Manu type of player.
To me KJ has been the most disappointing because he has been here long enough to show more than what he has, I say package him and Collins address some needs and start either Mamu or Barlow
It’s tough with kj because if he’s all in with our Spurs and still wants to be here and compete and grow then I say keep him but if he’s checked out, hates his bench role, looking to move on then trade him. Tough tho because who really knows?
If the Spurs get lucky and get 2 picks. They should trade keldon and Sochan. I'm not fan of either. I enjoyed watching Mamu and Devonte more. But the 4 guys I would target in the draft are Zaccharie, Matas or Castle, and Dillingham would be good building blocks.
If we draft well, Charles and Devonte could be cut. A lot depends on if we get the Toronto pick this year. The other three could be profitably traded for an all-star 3/D guy, but who would that be? I don't see that happening without giving up the farm: Vassell, Sochan, or several 1st round picks. That would be foolish, since in 2 years Julian could be that guy. We also have Sidy, Mamu and Barlow developing. Vic can give us one more of development. I think we can make the play-in next year with this year's team, plus one hot-shot rookie. Next year, sell the farm if necessary, but give our core crew one more year.

Do they ALL need to go? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

I have a very different list
Besides Julian, im fine with losing the rest. Sad to see Keldon go though. Good riddance to Zach Collins lol.
I remember when Bruce Bowen first came to the Spurs and everybody said that Bruce Bowen should not be starting(just like everyone is saying the same thing about Julien Champagne).

I love Mamu
Kj has been trade bait for awhile now
CASTLE OR SARR

Zach Collins is trash

yesss keep julian on the bench
yep trade d grahm, keep keldon at least on the bench, MAYBE trade collins if u do get ready to give dom barlow backup minutes
Keep Keldon first unit.Collins champagnie,Jones second unit

I would keep Johnson, have him come off the bench.

I agree, keep Julian, but it would probably be best to move on from the rest.
Sad to see any of these guys go. But KJ is the ❤ of these team, he still fits at 6th man role ..but he should play more effecient with lesser minutes.
Barlow, Mamu, Champagnie, Cissoko, and Graham seem like solid bench components.
Keldon has huge flaws and tendencies to force unnecessary shots. Basically playing superhero ball. If he gets traded he knows why it happened.

Champ we should keep.
Champagne is basically free so we will keep him, but he might get included to balance a trade.
To me KJ has been the most disappointing because he has been here long enough to show more than what he has, I say package him and Collins address some needs and start either Mamu or Barlow
Julian gotta stay!! Perfect role player… our Bruce Bowen.. our Danny Green… play defense and hit our open 3s
I can't belive so many Spurs fans still want Keldon go
Bassey, graham, kj,collins,d.duke can be traded but only if we can get better players
I concur n Cham definitely took a step forward .
I want Sarr here next version of Duncan and Robinson Twin Towers would be insane
It’s tough with kj because if he’s all in with our Spurs and still wants to be here and compete and grow then I say keep him but if he’s checked out, hates his bench role, looking to move on then trade him. Tough tho because who really knows?
I’d like to keep Julian. He’s one of the few players who improved this season
