The Timberwolves Are Breaking Phoenix’s Defense…

And don’t get me started on Minnesota’s defense…

  1. Great illustration. People say "Jaden has to step it up for the Wolves to succeed!" But what this shows is that what you actually mean is, Wolves have to move the ball effectively and make them pay for clamping down on Ant in order for Jaden to have these kinds of nights.

  2. WHAT A STAT LINE!!

every starter had 10 or more of the combined following:
    assists/rebounds/steals/blocks

    EVERYONE OF THE STARTERS

that – – is the essence of team ball. and ANT is getting 15+ a game. Rudy too…

  3. You are absolutely right they shot 9/32 in 3s…should the wolves made their average from 3, then it's a blow out win again early.
Key here is ant's playmaking decision…
    Good breakdown again!

  4. Your film breakdowns reveal a remarkable amount of detail that shows the magic of ball and player movement, thanks Jake!!

  5. They won the game because they had 10+ FT attempts then the suns not because their offense out played the suns y'all get online and make videos only watch highlights.

  6. the fact that I'm seeing statlines midgame saying "turnovers vs. points off t/os" and the points are nearly 3x the turnover amount. That's where we're REALLY killing the Suns. great defensive stops and then capitalizing virtually every time

  7. In quite a few clips here I saw McDaniels crashing the board to get those offensive rebounds/putbacks/tip outs even though we still made the shots lol

  8. The timberwolves aren't breaking anything. This Suns team has no heart and just doesn't click. Not a superteam at all. Just a bunch of overpaid bums

  9. Phoenix looked absolutely clueless on defense. Their perimeter defenders (Booker, Beal, KD especially) couldn't handle the constant Wolves movement… missing cutters, reckless closeouts leaving the lane wide open, getting caught in offball screens. Compare that with how the Wolves were defending the Suns' big 3 and anyone can see how bad their defensive awareness was.

On the flip side, full credit to the Wolves offense for keeping the ball moving and remaining active off ball. Yesterday was one of the best offensive execution I've seen from the Wolves in a long time, even if the threes were off. It speaks volumes about Minnesota's depth and gameplanning that their two main offensive guys having an off shooting night and they still come out with a handy win. Props to Finchy and the squad for the incredible game 2 display.
