Miami Heat set shooting record, beat Boston Celtics in Game 2
Miami hit more 3-pointers than they ever have in a playoff game, setting a team record to flip the script on Boston and win Game 2 in Boston. They won the 3-point battle by 33 and won by 10, making all the adjustments we expected and playing a nearly perfect game. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown put up big numbers and got no help from anyone else, but it was Miami’s defense that baited Boston’s stars into playing how the Heat wanted. Still, John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal says it’s no time to panic.

They may "respond" and play better, but it will do nothing to address the scheme problems.

“Miami can’t keep shooting like this,” maybe not, but also were you around last year? It was the exact same excuse for 3 games straight. I’m not in panic mode but I’m definitely having some PTSD. Call Spoelstra a witch or whatever but it just seems he knows how to coach confidence into his average players and also get in the Celtics heads at the same time.

This is embarrassing for Celtics coaching — everyone knows Miami had one path to victory albeit unlikely and you give it to them on a silver platter. That incompetent and doesn’t bode well for Joe M. going forward. Maybe he is a great guy that’s very competitive but not very insightful strategically.
Having one path to potential victory and following it doesn’t make a coach a genius it makes our coach look the fool again this year.
What happens when they play a good team ?
1st: John stop making predictions. It’s been 8 years of this.
2nd: It would be nice to defend, make shots & make free throws
3rd: KP & Jrue, you were brought here to make plays and shots. Do it.
4th: When you’re the dramatically better team just win the damn games and move on.

Miami is still an NBA team and I don’t agree that they think they’ll lose this series. They’re a good team, the team that wins is just better. Heat culture, unlike the Celtics and the rest of NBA teams cultures, is about elevating the so-called role players, especially when one or more starters are not playing well or out on injury, to make up for their absences. This game was a perfect example of that culture. Jimmy Butler said so, last year – there are no players such as role players in the Heat roster and everyone is a starter.
