CLEVELAND CAVALIERS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC GAME 3 INSTANT REACTION

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC GAME 3 INSTANT REACTION

The Cleveland Cavaliers led the Orlando Magic 2-0 in the first round of the NBA playoffs, but game 3 started off on a much different note.

After missing everything from deep in the first two games, the Magic found a groove from deep and make 8 triples in the first half. The Cavs only made 3.

At the break, Orlando led the Cavs 61-45.

Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were outplayed in the first 24 minutes by Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs & the rest of the Magic.

Through two games, the Cavaliers have been tough guys in these playoffs.

This year, they’re the bullies.

Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points, Jarrett Allen had 20 rebounds and Cleveland outlasted the Orlando Magic 96-86 on Monday night in a second straight slugfest to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference series.

It’s been an impressive opening for the Cavs, who spent the regular season waiting for a chance to redeem themselves following last year’s first-round exit against the New York Knicks, who punished Cleveland in five games.

The Cavs were labeled soft, especially Allen, who was criticized for saying “the lights were too bright.” They’ve flipped the script so far.

“It’s very satisfying,” Allen said. “It shows that we’ve grown not only as a team but as individuals. We’re not folding under pressure. We do have our moments, but as a whole I feel like we’ve taken a huge step.”

Mitchell set the tone as the Cavs led from start to finish, just as they did in Game 1.

Evan Mobley added 17 points and Allen scored 16 — with nine offensive rebounds — for Cleveland. He’s the third player in team history to get 20 rebounds in a playoff game, joining Kevin Love (21) and Brad Daugherty (20).

  1. Allen is literally the only player worth salvaging from this garbage team. Strus garland niang mobley.. get rid of them all.

  2. I hope the Cavs figure this out because if this happens Saturday, good luck trying to beat them in game 5. It would be the Cleveland thing to swing out the first 2 games and lose the next 4 games, and get bounced in the first round again.

  3. I was at this game tonight with my fam – it was ROUGH to watch. I don't understand throwing up the white flag that soon in the game – it's the playoffs. Watching them give up was horribly painful. And to be in that arena, with the magic making bucket after bucket – it was EMBARRASSING. My only comment about Donovan, at one point early in the first quarter, he went down mid court – not sure anyone was even around him and I wondered about his knee. Other than a few zig zags to the basket, he was much slower to move on the court. See you all Saturday – Mikey thanks for all your insight!

  4. The offense has no continuity, no trust in each other. Garland and mitchell have never played like good teammates. They don't ever pass to other hardly ever !!

  5. That was terrible I couldn't watch it all because it's sickening. I enjoy 😉 my team but what happens when you play defense so good at home and go to their house and play like doo doo what's rong with our team 🤔.

  6. Good point about Sam Merrill and the need to pair him with Donovan Mitchell (instead of DG) to maximize his value. It’s sad and pathetic our own “head coach” can’t recognize it.

  7. If Donovan isn’t carrying this team they lose. That’s the sign of a BAD team and a WORSE coach. Blow it up and start over

  8. As a magic fan to say this we crashed the boards tonight and that was the biggest difference we didn't let the cavs dictate the boards and the pace we took it to them on the boards and I was at the game let's go magic!!!!

  9. Quitters and horrible coaching…..and Koby should be fired too…giving Garland that RIDICULOUS contract is unbelievable-40m a year for Garland wtf!

  10. People have to wake up and realize it's 2024 this is not the same world we used to live in! Sports, specifically professional sports and in particular the NBA and NFL are nothing but organized gambling rings now. None of this is real, If you believe the Cleveland Cavaliers came out and got beat by 40 points you're insane this is all controlled for gambling purposes, for Vegas. There's a reason why they legalized gambling all of a sudden and everyone can gamble, and all games are nothing but money opportunities for big fish…. Sports as we know it, or should I say as we knew them, are gone forever💯

  11. Kept hammering on Paolo’s shot attempts but if any player on either team makes half their shots with that many attempts, his team wins the game in a series like this where defense is the major factor. You in fact can’t live with that tbh

  12. Bruh there’s a problem with garland. He’s been off for 3 months. Where’s the all star Garland from last year. If we don’t make it to the second round players getting traded and coaches getting fired for real

  13. Im going for Magic, but i honestly still feel that Cavs are taking this series. Magic had a good game scoring tonight but the thing is its rare. They aren't able to do it consistently. Second, I doubt Mitchell and Garland will have another low scoring game. Theyre offensive players and i know they'll get their buckets. For Magic, this is a great learning experience so Magic fans shouldn't feel upset if they lose the series.
