I have said it before our key is the bench. The 'stay ready' group will inject some great energy when the starters lose intensity or look disinterested. Muzzulla should not leave it too late though. Muzzulla should not rely too much on arrogance. Or else he is gone.
It's not variance-it's the Celtics not being able to defend the 3. It's been a problem all year long. Mazzulla is a true believer in advanced stats and keeps telling himself its variance. It's not. Couple that with mental softness of Tatum and Brown and disaster is in the making. The 5 out offense is BS in the playoffs
The Heat are not a good team and they are missing their best player and maybe their 3rd or 4th best player. Listen to Tatum in the press conference and despair that the Celts are ever winning a title with him as the best player
Even though they drafted him and hes been brilliant hes a great player but i think hes like KD I dont think tatum can be the number 1 guy or doesn't wanna accept that role fully he isnt aggressive enough and he isnt the leader he wants to the guys dont seem to trust him or follow him idk just me maybe

The Celtics always have the answers after they loose these type of Games but they never have the answers during the GAME y dont they respond during the game how are they surprised when they have faced the Heat a number of times in the PLAYOFFS it makes no sense.
John i dont get ur thought pattern you act surprised every time the Celtics face the Heat saying the Heat are a poor shooting team all regular season then you still come up here saying when the playoffs start Miami has poor shooting and will not stand a chance against Boston oh i dont see how they Win this series and yet you see that they shoot great against the Celtics every time in the playoffs.
Us as Fans see it thats y we worry when we get the Heat in the playoffs because WE SEE IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN YEAR AFTER YEAR WHEN WE FACE THEM. IF WE SEE IT HOW IN THE WORLD DO U NOT SEE IT THEN ACT SURPRISED WHEN IT HAPPENS WOW YOU ARE A CHARACTER BOY. THE NUMBERS AND THE MATH HAVE YOU BLIND MAN ONCE AGAIN WHEN THE PLAYOFFS START ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHO WANTS IT MORE. THE GREAT PLAYERS RISE TO THE TOP IN THE PLAYOFFS THROW THE DAM NUMBERS AND MATH OUT THE WINDOW.
We should win this series against the Heat but I'm not certain of that we could also lose it but one thing I'm certain of we will not win a championship if Tatum doesn't evolve in these playoffs and our coach Joe need to have a back-up plan if the three-point shot isn't Fallen from where I'm standing we are nowhere near the level of the Denver Nuggets we could easily get knocked out of the playoffs by any one of these teams that are upcoming

Should we be worried about Mazulla's in-game adjustments, or lack there-of? I mean, after halftime he couldn't see that we weren't guarding the 3-point line? Adjustments between games are WAY too slow if we want to win a chip!

These Heat mf are picking the low fruit bringing up the audio from the video before. John is better than me. I’m swinging on sight at the game. I swear to god, Celtics! Defend our boy John and beat these mf in 5.
We said the same thing last year: "no way they do it again." They did it again 3x. We said this year: "no way they repeat last year." They did it again. Maybe Joe and the team should take a hint? the heat are capable of doing it vs. the celtics again. and again. and again. What we should be doing this time is operating under the premise that they'd do it again and actually just prevent it from happening. Miami is not beating us with BAM post-plays.
5 things i'd like to see done differently:
1. play the heat like we do the sixers or bucks. let Bam get his. shut down everyone else. the role-players shouldnt get open shots. dont let anyone else aside from Bam gain confidence. The heat basically did a version of this to us. They basically shut down everyone except the Js and baited the Js to score/hunt mismatches. Our best version is when everyone eats.
2. in line with #1, perhaps instead of trying to get the Js going, we should be trying to get d.white going at the start. the offense flows better when hes aggressive and hes not relegated to 3 point shooter/passer. let him be the primary playmaker instead of the Js.
3. The heat know we will run PNR to force the switch and put KP at the nail for a post-up. lets diversify things. perhaps run an empty side PNR with KP and let him roll or post-up along the baseline.
4. PP didnt get a single shot in 19 mins. lets run more plays for PP and Sam.
5. so yeah guard the perimeter this time and close out properly. run every heat player from the line and trust your help to challenge when the heat get into the paint. Only guy i'd sag off of is bam. Everyone else gets faceguarded like steph. its an overreaction sure but do we really expect the heat arent shooting like steph again? I'd switch matchups too. KP should guard whoever the corner man is (typically caleb or jovic), white should be on herro, while jrue/JT/JB take turns guarding BAM. yes show BAM different matchups like we do with Luka.
This game 3 is a must win. Lets go win this thing. Let's go Cs!

Everyone is acting the Heat got the series won after one win. 🙄 The way this team has been trashed after game 2 has been bad. I sure hope they come out and win and dominate in game 3. We are good on the road in the playoffs recently, so hopefully, they can turn it around.
Watching these Denver games I see a complete opposite in the Celtics as far as execution in taking care of business. Still waiting to get the same trust factor for these Celtics.

The issue wt the Celtics is they play down to there competition, playing a lesser team in the heat that the Celtics owned this whole season and wt out Miamis best player there’s no urgency, but this embarrassing loss will motivate the C’s and I can’t wait to see the Celtics wipe the floor wt Miami on Saturday I can’t wait 🍀🏆
