And here are some of the things said about Embiid by NBA media last night post game and today after last night’s game where he committed multiple flagrants, didn’t get thrown out of the game, and ultimately knocked the Knicks’ best Embiid defender (Robinson) out of the game with an ankle injury after recklessly diving on his leg:
ESPN/[First Take](https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1783932799205920890?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg): “If [Joel Embiid] were healthy … there would be religious conversation, is this not the greatest big man we have ever seen in the history of basketball?” – Stephen A.
[Chiney Ogwumike](https://x.com/chiney/status/1783686233375510877?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg): The fact that Joel Embiid is not anywhere near 100% and he still:
– dropped 50 points on 19 fgs
– went 10-16 on contested shots
– went 8-10 in the 2nd half with an average FGA distance of 19.8 feet
– scored on 5 different defenders
No matter how this ends, RESPECT!!
ESPN/[NBA Today](https://x.com/clutchpoints/status/1783963428400279569?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg): “I have to acknowledge that this is one of the greatest performances we’ve seen in the playoffs in years, when you consider all that.” – Brian Windhorst on Joel Embiid’s 50-point game against the Knicks in Game 3
Oh and Inside the NBA didn’t address his dirty play at all.
In a league where double standards have become a sort of regular occurrence, this one takes the cake by a mile and it’s not even remotely close.

Yes. It’s enough to be turning me off to the NBA, after I’ve been a fan for pretty close to half a century.
But he isn’t a dirty player….
Repeat offender? Nah.
Dam if that stat doesn’t blow your mind, you’re lyin 😂
Someone please explain how on earth that wasn’t a flagrant 2 last night. Excessive? Check. Unnecessary? Check. I’ll never understand the rules lol
Watching Embiid constantly antagonize other teams with dirty plays on the court in every game and throwing a tantrum every time he gets a whistle for it has really made me dislike this dude. Homeboy is constantly injured and draws a ridiculous number of petty fouls. He ain’t no MVP
I didn’t watch much of the game but in the first half he ran down the court and barreled into a Knick nowhere near the ball in play and it took five minutes for them to rule it was an offensive foul when it was clearly a Flagrant 1. It’s obvious he’s getting the Lebron treatment in order to keep the Sixers a relevant franchise.
Didn’t realize Action Bronson was such an NBA fan
Yeah he’s a literal shit bag
Didn’t Embiid step on Grant Williams head last post season? lol
