why was he playing with no Achilles instead of Ajax? If you win this game then you buy an extra week for Giannis, and you can make a run with Giannis+Khris. They will not rush Giannis back after what happened to KD. No Giannis or Dame down 1-2 is probably the series.

He was not a very good decoy. Clearly hurt. Not running to get the ball. Would have helped to have another healthy body out there in OT. I’m not even a doc hater but he needs to be the one to make that call.
This was pretty obvious to everyone that was actually paying attention, only reason Khris gets those shots at the end is because Dame can’t take them.
Edit: maybe getting someone out there not hurt that could rebound would’ve been more valuable than the decoy

Can Doc not fucking share this? Our options are now playing Dame as an obvious bluff, him burning himself into the ground to be efficient or just sit him. Just say he had a rough game but he’s ready to lock in for game 4.
Just sit him. If he and Giannis aren’t healthy, not worth risking their careers. It sucks to lose a season when Dame isn’t getting any younger but having a healthy title shot next year is better than having someone tear an Achilles this year when it’s not looking like their year.

Dame was still hitting huge shots in the 4th quarter. Shoulda been benched for defensive/rebounding purposes, but tbh I have a feeling this quote may be blowing his injury out of proportion.
The good news for Doc at least is he can blame this years playoff shortcomings on injuries so he’ll be back next year!
