Nuggets in Abu Dhabi

So next year the Spurs and Pacers get to play a couple games in [Paris](https://www.nba.com/spurs/news/san-antonio-spurs-to-play-two-regular-season-games-in-paris-in-january-2025-against-the-indiana-pacers). Must be nice.

We get two [games](https://nbaevents.nba.com//abudhabi2024) in Abu Dhabi?

I’d love to go make an international trip around seeing my team abroad. But not in a repressive oil fiefdom where they don’t sell alcohol and it is 128 degrees at night.

If you do go, make sure to “[exercise](https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/united-arab-emirates-travel-advisory.html#:~:text=Exercise%20increased%20caution%20in%20the,remains%20an%20ongoing%2C%20serious%20concern.) increased caution in the United Arab Emirates due to the threat of missile or drone attacks and terrorism.” Sounds peachy!

What the fuck, NBA?

I blame Dick Monfort for everything you mentioned

Yeah, pretty shitty that we’re taking part in this.

  3. Having been to the UAE multiple times, it’s pretty much the perfect introductory Middle-Eastern country for a westerner. They are like 85% expats, so it’s really hard to offend someone there by doing something wrong, especially if you are in the big cities.

The games are in October, the temperatures should be nice, with it feeling like Colorado summer, but with more humidity.

You can find alcohol in some places, like hotel bars, but if you want to go out and be drunk in public, then that could cause issues for you.

UAE is friendly and puts on a good face, there is a dark underside of course, you can look into it or not and make the decision yourself.

If you go, bring back some Cuban cigars and saffron to give out as gifts to friends and family, they will love it.

I live in Abu Dhabi and I’m obviously going. But the threat and missile attacks were never a thing, and you can buy alcohol there are stores as well as in hotels and bars. Honestly I’m happy knowing that they will come here because I know few nuggets fans including myself

Xenophobic af. That’s like saying I don’t want to come to murica because I don’t wish to get shot down by a random nutcase with an AR-15.

There’s a good reason to have a moral issue with playing in pretty much every country. The issue is that it’s in Abu Dhabi not Serbia
