Hot take: This is the least mad I’ve been at the Lakers the entire series.

They played a very solid game tonight and I can’t really even be upset. Like every one else, I am fucking pissed at the the first 3 games honestly. Unlike last year, we could have totally had this one. Happy summer everyone and better luck next year.

Without ad being able to score we gave it everything

Won’t criticize anyone tonight now they tried

    <3 ar for the effort

Losing Game 2 ended the series, let’s be real. That was a basketball crime to lose that one. Game 3 the team was defeated mentally, game 5 was mostly a close game that got unlucky

  3. The close ones sting the most. At least we didnt go out like chumps like the suns. We fought hard every minute.

  4. Klaxosaur

If AD didn’t get his shoulder rocked, this would have been a different game.

But yea, this team fought till the end. Great game.

  5. Musa_2050

They had chances to win but couldn’t hit fts and gave up 1000 offensive boards

  6. JimmytheGent2020

As long as ham is fired I’m okay with losing this series.

  7. Wise_Ad_112

Atleast they didn’t go out like punks. Not mad at all

it’s just unfortunate. So, many little things and we could have won.

-Mainly, if AD does get hurt

-or alternatively if D’lo 3 ball just fell a little more (I actually thought he played well, his defense was good, passing was decent, and manage to get a few layups).

-if we just allowed slightly less o-rebounds…

    -free throws…

  9. Same lol, we all expect its over. The expectations were low.

  10. Browskies

Ehh 40 year old Bron and AD getting beat by a better team overall. Can’t really be too upset about it. Game was intense tonight

  11. Can’t blame you. It was a good game. The effort was there (although the biggest break in my opinion was Gordon’s offensive rebound that became a Murray 3).

  12. Most of us knew this was coming. I like the way the Lakers fought until the end and can keep their heads up this offseason.

Maybe because I’m old, but I am not overly upset. I’m bummed, sure. But the Nuggets are a great team, it’s not like we lost to the Pelicans (no offense to NOLA).

I thought other than the first game, we played pretty well overall, but some stuff just didn’t bounce our way.

I’m fine with mostly running it back next year, would like to see Vincent and Vando be healthy and what they could provide.

Would like to keep TP as long as we don’t overplay him.

Need to replace Wood and/or Hayes with a better backup big.

I don’t really subscribe to sending out all our picks and multiple players chasing someone like Trae, I just don’t see how that really changes much.

Jamal fucking Murray is just so fucking annoying. Like for the love of god can you miss one fucking clutch shot against us!?!!

I think it’s only because after game 3 the Lakers were already down 3 – 0, and people already made peace with it. It was deflating.

If this exact same game happened for game 7 i’m sure a lot more people would be pissed about the missed FTs, the defensive rebounds, the missed wide open 3s, the ref calls (especially the challenge) etc.

  16. gratitudeisbs

Nuggets were just better, our guys fought hard and that’s all you can ask for. Just happy we didn’t get sweeped.

  17. incredibleamadeuscho

They fought until the end. That’s all you can ask for.

  18. Vegasguy3124

Tf you talking about we always lose by 2 points to these fuckers

  19. yung_sauce

Once AD got injured i knew the game was over. And even if they somehow won the game, AD prob wouldn’t be 100% the rest of the series.

  20. Skillomie

The missed free throws and back to back offensive rebounds late that led to 5 points for the nuggets will haunt

  21. outsidehere

Honestly I’m not particularly mad at the result. I knew that we weren’t going to come back but I was being delusional about it. I’m mad that Ham once again is the biggest reason why we lose. In all of our losses this season, he’s always been the common thread. Terrible rotations, never calling a timeout when the other team gets hot, never adjusting, never challenging when necessary etc. I’m just looking forward to the Timberwolves vs Nuggets

  22. ZestyItalian2

Oh I feel the same way. These guys fought *hard*.

  23. UD_Hunter

    Yep. We beat ourselves .

Bricked open threes and missed FTs, can’t get rebounds .

I’m more mad at that than I am at all the stupid shots Murray and Porter make .

  24. same. game 2 sucked every ounce of hope out of my body. everything after that has just been mental cruise control. the win was nice. never expected them to win tonight in Denver. the only way I saw us winning was if we kept a steady 10+ pt lead into the end of the 4th. as soon as Nuggets went up in the 4th I knew it was probably game.

9 missed free throws. AG destroying us on the offensive board. MPJ hitting automatic 3’s. Jamal Murray turning in to Michael Jordan whenever he plays the Lakers. our bench being nothing short of a G league team. **Darvin Ham**. AD injured and Ham somehow not subbing him for 6 straight minutes. so many more things…

despite all of this I am not mad. the boys fought hard. we’re just not that team right now. hope it’s not the last team we see Bron in a Lakers jersey, but if so, I am happy for what we got. it was the craziest 4-1 series I’ve ever seen and we have put up hell of a fight.

    onwards.

  25. Overall the Lakers did a good job this game. Two problems were the defense in the last 5 minutes was very poor (including rebounding) and a bunch of missed free throws throughout the game. Two stupid things that cost them the game. Really should be 3-2 up heading back to LA. I personally think the T-Wolves are going to beat these guys.

  26. ChicaFantazma

Eh I’m not mad at the series. They led most of the way in each game but the last few seconds on each game were killer. Seriously never seen a Lakers team lead for so much of the series only to lose in the final minute or last few seconds.

Two things I noticed throughout the series. We need a big that can bruise and rebound, I don’t even care about a scoring center. Lakers don’t get out rebounded this badly, they likely have a better chance at winning the series.

Second, hopefully some of the young guys learn from this experience. Particularly Rui. He passed up open shots on at least 3 possessions in this game. Then he passed it late in the clock which led to a heave at the buzzer or violation. It’s not hot potato, just take the open shot or decide much earlier to pass it. Multiple wasted possessions in an elimination game were disastrous.

Who y’all cheering for now? I’d like a Wolves vs OKC West finals.

  27. CaptainHaw

Yeah same, i didn’t feel anything after murray got the buzzer beater. That game 2 for sure, i want to punch my monitor at that time, damn fcking moray

  28. locomocopoco

Why is no one hounding Jamal Murray in these last possessions if we know he has calf injury ? Dennis S or Ramon Rondo used to do that.

  29. AsJoeSeesIt

I simply cannot get over how any basketball coach at any level, let alone the NBA, can allow a team to go from a 9 point lead to a 4 point deficit without calling a timeout. Wish the LA media had the balls to ask Ham what the fuck goes through his head in these situations where he just watches the lead and momentum crash and burn. Fuck Darvin Ham.

  30. Vindicare605

I haven’t been mad at the Lakers the entire post season. I’d be thrilled if they won, but there’s no shame in losing to this Denver team. It’s much better constructed than ours is.

I get pissed when we lose to teams that I think we should beat, like the Suns a couple years ago.

If I’m mad about anything it’s the fact that this team was in the play in again instead of making it up to a higher seed, but I’ve long since gotten over that especially since I’m fully convinced that the road to the finals goes through Denver anyway.
